Vacaciones familiares

Great location, but no A/C in common areas and no hot water
This property is the perfect location for taking advantage of Viejo San Juan. It's in a beautiful, quiet part of Calle San Francisco and you can easily walk to almost everything in that part of the city. The gate to get outside the city wall is right around the corner, and there are so many wonderful restaurants, bars, and historic sites within a mile's walk. The fridge, stovetop, and dishwasher all worked well and the TV, door lock, and WiFi were easy to use. With that said, a few things didn't meet expectations and made the property description seem inaccurate at times. Air conditioning is only available in the four bedrooms. The central courtyard is covered but open air, and the living room and kitchen are cooled only by fans. When it's hot outside, those spaces aren't going to be much cooler. Hot water was also an issue: we were told it may be slow to heat up, but we were never able to get any hot water, even when four people took consecutive showers. We followed all host guidelines on how to get hot water, but weren't successful. Finally, while the air conditioning in the bedrooms kept us cool, one A/C unit in a downstairs bedroom began to leak, dripping enough water onto the sheets and pillows to require us to move the bed, launder the sheets, and leave a wastebasket under the A/C to catch the drip.

Short stay in Paradise
I loved the location of the property. We walked through la puerta de San Juan every night to el paseo de la princesa. The Limber next to the Rogativa statue is very refreshing and only $1 the lady sells it from the window of her house. The rooms stay very cold and bed and pillows are very comfortable. We ate out most of the time but we were spoiled with the panini grill. Every morning we made sandwiches with cheese and ham and of course pan sobao that we got from the grocery store at the plaza just 2 blocks away. Our favorite restaurant was la Garita going toward La Perla. The Red Snapper was great and very fresh. I recommend going there early afternoon. I wouldn’t go there at night unless you are a local. Our other favorite was Patio de Sam. When we left we just walked up to The convento hotel and they called us a taxi, we were a group of 7 so it was difficult for the van type taxis to drive down our street. If you want to spend the day at the beach go to el escamaron. Taxi for 4 is only $20 one way. A most is the pigeon park and the Fort. All in all we had a wonderful time Miguel’s house is very spacious and the kitchen is completely stocked with everything you may need. The lock box is easy to use and you are next to everything away from the noisy part of the city.

We had a fantastic stay for a long weekend getaway! The property location could not be better (close to shops, sights, restaurants) and I especially loved being close to the Governor's mansion as security was present 24 hours (just a nice peace of mind). Rafael was great with communication and you can tell he cares for him property and his guests. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We can't wait to come back!

Fantastic place to stay in Old San Juan
My family and I stayed here the week before Christmas and totally loved the place and the Old San Juan area. We stayed for 4 days during which we took in all of the historical sites (del Morro and San Cristobal, fountains, restaurants and shopping). We walked everywhere! One day we did a day trip to El Yunque to see the tower, waterfalls and swim/eat at Luiquillo beach. The house was located close to everything. The air conditioning units cooled us off from the hot days and everything else was great. Lots of room to spread out, watch tv and relax. I would totally recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in Old San Juan. A couple of notes for improvements - could use another couch as my family of 5 had to use a couple of the dining room chairs to watch tv, the shower hot water only ever reached luke warm even when running it for a while and the queen bed downstairs was extremely creaky when getting in/out and anytime my husband or I moved during the night.

Comfortable and clean. Convenient and quiet. My words cannot describe this charming 2 level place. Beds comfortable, air conditioning worked great. Washer and dryer were useful. Kitchen was well equipped. And it is a stones throw from the governors house and police garage! we always felt safe. I hope everyone who reserves this place has as much fun as we did! No need for a car. Spend money elsewhere!

Ideal location
The house was the perfect home base for my family for our stay in old San Juan. My husband and I brought our daughters (early 20’s). It was very well stocked with anything we could have needed. Rafael was very easy to communicate with and hospitable. They have also taken a great effort to create a book guiding you through the city and giving tons of suggestions. The location is ideal, a short walk to everywhere you want to go, but on a nice quiet street. We would highly recommend!

Beautiful Spanish colonial house- great location!
I stayed here with 3 other adult family members for a special birthday celebration. The house did not disappoint! It has 4 air conditioned bedrooms, 2 updated bathrooms, an updated kitchen and a beautiful interior patio with a spiral staircase. It is within walking distance to all the restaurants and shops. We walked every morning to the fortress. We took a 20 minute cab ride to Isla Verde beach which is gorgeous. Then another day we went to Condado Beach which is beautiful too but the ocean is too rough to swim in. I cannot wait to return!

Perfection
Perfection is the only way i can describe this beautiful home. I am so glad this is the place i rented for my trip. The location is perfect and since OSJ is so walkable we saw and did everything. The home is exactly represented on the listing. Clean and well equipped. I loved the little courtyard. I did not venture up the spiral stairs, my young people stayed up there and it was nice to have the separation for our group. The host provided everything we would need, including trash bags, laundry supplies, soap, conditioner, shampoo, etc. There was a surprising selection of decent pots and pans. We only cooked a couple of times but it was nice to have more than one wonky aluminum skillet with the non-stick surface peeling off to choose from and even more surprising is that the knives were actually sharp enough to cut without risking amputated. The beds were very comfortable. I slept very well every night. I was not a fan of the memory foam pillows but that is personal preference. If you are anything like i am planning a trip and you collect listings for comparison, this listing will not disappoint. I will most certainly stay here again.
