The staff here are the absolute best out of any hotel I've stayed at. They're kind and care about your stay. The hotel is clean at any hour (I'm serious, any hour) and the hotel bar is so much fun. The bartender Alicia is the best and creates a really fun atmosphere. I'll be back - beat hotel experience I've ever had.

It was perfect. Perfect location, close to everything. Well lit, staff was very responsive. Super easy and fast check-in/out. Smooth transaction. Bed was very comfortable. I slept like a baby. My room was #707. Didn’t hear a thing throughout the night. The only think I would “improve” if would be the toilet l(it was kind of low) lol (I am 6’2 tall) and I felt like I was doing squats lol. Besides that, 100/100. I will stay here again next time I am in SFO.

Check in was easy, the room was spacious and had nice black out curtains. We were visiting for our anniversary and even before upgrading to the romance suite, I had been told to expect some sort of welcome gift type items in our room to mark the special occasion, but then nothing ever became of that and we received nothing of the sort for the duration of our stay.

Great property, located right on Union Square, only a few minutes walk from Powell St BART station. Great location to explore downtown SF by foot. The real selling point for this hotel is the staff, especially Alicia in the bar, she was fantastic!

Gem on Union Square
The Chancellor is a gem. Perfect location for transportation and easily walkable to many other locations. The staff was warm and welcoming and the amenities in the lobby (coffee, spa water, apples, homemade cookies) were fantastic. The room was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. I'll definitely staff here again!

Loved this hotel, very accommodating and historic. It's located in a very convenient spot in Union Square and makes it easy to get around pretty much anywhere. Would love to stay here again. Try the cookies!
