I always enjoy my stays at the Atwood hotel. The staff is always friendly. The rooms are spacious and very clean. This is a good location and prices are very reasonable when coming to San Diego. I always check availability and prices here first. Great place to stay.

We were told our room was ready, we went to the door, they were still cleaning. We waited for them to finish. Entered the room, it still wasn’t clean. Bathtub was dirty, tub/faucet was inoperable as there wasn’t even a handle on it, soda spots from a previous guest, etc. Then when I mentioned all the issues, they didn’t want to change my room or refund me. Money lost. I’d NEVER stay here again.

I would NOT recommend this motel to anyone. I needed a quick place to stay the night as I got too tired to drive (roadtrip), and found this on Expedia. The staff was friendly but slow moving as they have a large sign saying they’re understaffed, (I guess to excuse the slow moving nature of the staff) but for the most part, staff was friendly. I needed to add an additional night upon check-in, and they had to do a separate reservation, which was fine, but she didn’t tell me that the price was going to be substantially higher than my first reservation, nor a warning that the price will vary, just a paper to sign where the rate said $0.00. All is fine until I get to my room. I noticed there were little baby cockroaches in the bathroom. First I only saw two small ones. (But where there’s small cockroaches, there’s dozens more). I found roach dropping stains on the wall and lower counter of the sink. And there were cockroaches in the drawer of the night stand and on top of the television console. They were all small roaches, which clearly indicate a large infestation. When I complained about the issue the next morning, she did not seem surprised of the issue and apologized and asked if I wanted to switch rooms. But the requirements to do so would inflict with my schedule so I asked to stay there but get compensated. She said she could waive the pet fee, I felt the pet fee was meaningless for a motel that has a roach infestation to begin with. I’ve reached my max character lim

We drove in from Texas for our son's graduation from Marine Corps Recruit Depot and arrived way before check-in time. Due to full bookings there were not any rooms for us to check in early, we also required rooms next to each other so that also played a part. The staff was still accommodating offering to keep any luggage if we wanted to explore and by allowing us to hang out at the pool while we waited for check-in time. The children loved the pool, it wàs clean and refreshing. The parking lot was well lit making us feel safe walking to and from our vehicle in thé dark. We will definitely be back next time we're in town.
