I recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad Beach, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had, despite paying $746.50 per night for what was supposed to be a "Deluxe Room, 2 Queen Beds, Ocean View." Having stayed in everywhere from Ritz Carlton and Four Seasons to budget motels like Motel 6, I can honestly say this hotel was worse than a Motel 6.
First, the room was far from luxurious. The bathroom door was broken, and despite notifying the front desk, they failed to fix it during our stay. The "Ocean View" room we paid for was a disappointment—the windows were so dirty that we couldn’t even see outside, let alone enjoy the ocean view we expected.Soap holder broken, bathtub Drain Stopper was broken overall dirty hotel .
To add to the frustration, the hotel had ongoing construction, which was not mentioned prior to booking. The bar’s draft beer machine was also broken, and the bartender was not only rushing but also had a very unwelcoming attitude. It was clear that the service, much like the room, lacked quality.
After reporting all these issues, the only compensation offered was a meager $22 discount on overnight parking—insulting given the overall experience.
Save your money and avoid this place. It’s nowhere near the quality you'd expect for the price, and you’ll likely leave frustrated as we did.
