The hotel was under construction…we had nowhere to stay!
We were aware that this lovely building was old, but it is very much in need of some attention. Unfortunately our room was very hot owing to the fact that the window sash was broken so it could not be opened. The bathroom was tiny, with nowhere to hang towels & the water drained so slowly from the shower tray that it became a foot bath & threatened to overflow onto the floor! The mattress on the bed had seen better days - we could feel the springs!
Lovely old building with comfortable room & pleasant restaurant. the breakfast menu was good but the service a little haphazard. It was an easy, pleasant walk into town.
The 15th century mill was perfect for us as a stopover as we returned to London. With a 15th century building and the reasonable room rates we understood that the accommodation would not be luxurious. We took the 20 minute walk to the Cathedral before we checked out, the views on the way were stunning. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
What a charming place to stay, a working paper mill with character. Great outdoor eating area and the restaurant is also very nice. Staff very helpful.
Welcoming, friendly but not over familiar staff. Walking distance to the centre of Salisbury. Nice surroundings looking over the cathedral and water meadows.Easy parking and quiet.
We arrived at the hotel on a Friday evening but there was still enough room to park. The setting is picturesque and we were greated with lots of smiles and adorable dogs. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room overlooked the water which was not only a great view but perfect white noise for sleep. My husband and I had both dinner and breakfast here. Both very enjoyable. The next day we were also able to keep the car at the hotel while we explored the city on foot. Great place to stay!
Booked a single room for three nights whilst on business only to find my Wife decided to surprise me on my second night, so after asking the staff for an upgrade to a double and having no rooms available they very kindly gave us a zedbed to use. Very kind. Great pub, good beer and food rather nice too. Idyllic location.
we had a brilliant trip all the staff were superb and helpful , used the restaurant for breakfast and evening meal all was really good fresh and well cooked, poached eggs and salmon to die for, will be coming back in the very near future

Liked: Staff & service, room comfort
A short break in Salisbury
Wonderful hotel location on the River Avon, but rushing water noise could be a concern for light sleepers. The room decor was a little tired. The staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly in the restuarant. The location is excellent - a 15 minute walk to the town centre across the water meadows, with wonderful views of the cathedral.
This accommodation is in a lovely position beside the river and on the edge of the water meadow. It is an easy flat walk of about 15 mins to reach the centre of Salisbury.
Splendid location by water meadows - nice to wake up to. Beautiful views of Cathedral. Building interesting in historical sense. Hotel lived up top expectations.
Lovely comfortable huge bed but could be noisy as we were above the bar. Didn't bother us as we were there Tuesday to Friday but you could hear what people were saying. They did provide ear plugs too!!! Think could do with more sound proofing.
Great walk into the city across the water meadows, with views of the Cathedral, took about 10 mins. Had tassimo coffee maker in the room too. Really nice touch.
Hotel is in a beautiful location with wonderful views of river & Cathedral. The building itself is full of character being a converted mill with water running through the restaurant. Staff extremely helpful at all times & room was lovely and cosy. Thought evening menu choice slightly limited but food on offer very good with excellent breakfast. A really nice place to stay.
