This is the 3rd time my family and I had visited the Ibis, unfortunately this was the worst occasion.
We'd travelled over 100 miles, so we were knackered and the hotel was the centrepiece of our trip.
Reception were very non plus, not people persons.
The room was relatively clean, but was missing some bedware.
I had to go down 3 floors to retrieve some.
The hotel WiFi wasn't working for the first day and a half, which was a pain, especially as my phone struggled with my own Mobile Data.
Reception were very non plus, token apologies.
I could have sworn that when we went last year you had some soap, cups and maybe a kettle, but this year they've locked it all off presumably cost cutting, and it shows.
Parking is £12 for 24hrs, when we first came it was £10.
We stayed for 2 days so it adds £24 to expenses.
There were a couple of mad noisy guests, but I didn't report it as I didn't have confidence the hotel would do much, could've changed rooms but didn't want hassle, especially with your family in tow.
Location is very good, 15 minute walk to Media City.
15 minute to Manchester Centre via tram.
Old Trafford 15 min walk. Etihad 45/55 mins away.
Lots of shops close by but a car is essential for that, unless you don't mind walking on v busy main roads.
The stay started off bad, but got better.
You can feel the cost cutting which isn't nice, and some of the reception staff could do with extra training.
The customer is (nearly always) right!..
