Safety concerns
While the room was clean and comfortable, poor security raised potential problems. While walking down to our room, we noticed other room doors slightly propped open, as was our room door. We briefly wondered if the room was even ready or someone else was in the room. Also, the outside security doors that you "should" have to use a room key to get in did not work properly. Door #1 was not locked at all and door #2 card reader was broken, would not read atr all, therefore the door was left propped open, potentially allowing a non-guest to sneak into the building. How do we know someone didn't get into one of the open clean rooms and use the bathroom or take a nap on the bed? Can you see how this could happen? The room price was great, the room was clean and comfortable, but for safety reasons we're not sure if we would stay there again. Sincerely, Mat and Terri Wellnitz Big Rapids, MI

I felt unsafe staying at this hotel. People partying outside listening to music, doing illegal activity. When I checked into the room, there were people on our balcony drinking and screaming. Front desk accommodated my request for another room and said he understood. Room is dirty, walls and ceiling have holes. Bathtub rusted. I have two small children and my 8 year old even asked if we could go somewhere else because he felt unsafe. Not a good family facility.

Very noisy with major highway right next to the facility and they obviousely did nothing to mitigate the noise level when it was built. Truck traffic woke me up all night so I left at 4:30am!

We did not stay in the Hotel due to the appearance on the outside and inside there was a person the in the lobby picking at their feet. Another couple refused to stay at the hotel as well. The hotel looked nothing like the internet photos. We had to get another hotel at the last minute do to the unsafe and unclean conditions and the presence of roaches. I expect a full refund, very disappointed in this property and staff.

The first room they gave me appeared to have not been cleaned. Wrinkled pillowcases, spots on the bed sheets, spider webs with the spider in it. Dirty bathroom. Asked for another room. Was better but not great.

If I could give this a zero star I would. The hotel was nothing like the pictures represented on the website. We would not stay there as is was dirty and we didn't feel safe. They would not cancel our reservation and still charged us. I am fighting with Expedia to return our money.

The look on the door only worked if you inserted the card to make the door handle coordinate with the deadbolt. It made leaving the room to go find a restaurant a little complicated. The secondary flip lock on the door was broke off! The outside of the hotel was very unkept and dirty.

Fantastic location!
The location here was excellent! It sat right off of I-75. Bay City was only a mile or two down the road. The price was reasonable and included breakfast! The only slight thing was that the lobby was empty when we first arrived, but there was a number for assistance. I can't complain as the staff were attentative to our needs like when we needed towels or my wife needed a hair dryer. The beds were very comfortable and I have to rate them as a good experience!

The whole hotel stinks, there are permanent residence living there full time We have stayed there the last few year cause it is close to the state park, but this place has gone down hill fast. We not be back :(

Mold on shower curtain .. trash laying all over the yard and steps .. heck even a chair in the yard .. had to fight with the key card to get in the door .. and so did other people cuz the door looked like it had been pryed open .. fridge leaked ..
