Surprisingly Great Value and Great stay.
When my husband had surgery at UC Davis, i had to stay overnight nearby. I found The MidTowner online because the price ($88) was all i could afford. I worried that because Motel 6 was across that this hotel would be not so nice. To my surprise this property is remodeled. The office is modern and clean. The staff was knowledgeable and professional. My room had hardwood like flooring, a remodeled bathroom, safetly lock on the door, a/c heater and fan only for white nouse. Additionally the tv, mini fridge, ironing board, hair dryer, coffee maker, shampoo, soaps, tissue, and toilet paper were nicely stocked. The towels were clean and provided wash cloths, hand towels and bath towels. The linens on the bed, however, were not as fresh as i would have hoped but i brought my own pillows. I pulled ba k the sheet and the fitted sheet was clean to my view. The top sheet and pillows had the smell of what i can only describe as car exhaust fumes. Maybe this is because the hotel sits literally next to Highway 5 so maybe it comes through the a/c which is likey. Overall, 4-1/2 stars out of 5.

Clearly recently renovated but poorly maintained. Room reeked of cigarettes, 1 inch gap under the door so the heater had to work overtime, floors needed vacuuming and the paint job was clearly rushed. Terrible continental breakfast. Positives: beds and pillows were comfortable, instant hot water, pool looked nice and well maintained

In our two day stay, we were locked out of our room twice. There was dog pee all over the inside of the property by the main elevator. Our room had a small spot of blood on the wall, and the door handle to our bathroom was broken. The entire inside of the property reeked of cigarette smoke, despite being non-smoking. You get what you pay for with this property.

Was on the ground floor and heard EVERYTHING happening on the floor above and a homeless person was having a 10 minute yelling issue. The bed was super comfy.

This property is surrounded by homeless. The parking lot had people loitering about at all hours of the day and night. When I first checked in, the room I was assigned had people loitering around in the hallway, with the door to the room across the hall open, and multiple mattresses laying on the floor. I asked to be assigned to another room in a different part of the building, which the staff promptly accommodated. Overall, this property had the feel of a transient housing operation.
