Pool pictures are deceiving. The full super small and in the shade, which is the only reason we booked this hotel. Staff were not very helpful and the area was a bit sketchy and unsafe. Would not stay here again.

Homeless drug deal meets you
Drove up to check in and a group of homeless that looked like they were doing a drug deal was standing right there. I was uncomfortable the entire stay. Guy checking me in barely could muster speaking to me much less even looking at me. Not a good experience. Not for 152 dollars.

When I arrived, the front desk person "Troy" was not very friendly and when I asked not to be in the room right next to the elevator, Troy argued that I would not hear it because of the bathroom, what I DID hear was the voice of everyone in front of my door waiting for the elevator. Troy also made it known during his conversation with a guest at the desk that he doesn't approve of "men who aren't dressed like men" as they were watching the opening ceremony to the Olympics. LOL. My bed had wrinkled sheets and a few long black hairs and the roll of toilet paper was hanging like it had just been used. I doubt my room had just been serviced at all before my stay. The second morning, I found the only elevator broke down and even though the staff knew about it they could not be bothered to place an "out of order, use stairwells" sign. I was on the top floor so some direction would have been nice instead of waiting for the elevator that never came. One room had guests coming and going most of the night so I suspect they allow prostitutes and one of her guests ended in a hallway yelling match. The only decent part of this hotel was the hot breakfast. They had a bit of everything and that part was nice. It's a small dining space so get there early. The surrounding area is not great and should not be walked after dark, especially the river path which is the only way to walk into town. Would I stay here again? No way... lesson learned.

The late afternoon male receptionist on 7/27/24 was rude. Receptionist could not carry a pleasant dialogue or answer questions pleasantly. Outside of the receptionist all was comfortable and decent.

There was a stain on one of our comforters and asked for a new one. The front desk told me to bring the comforter downstairs to them and they would give me a new one cause they couldn’t bring it to us! Also the elavator wasn’t working so we had to take everything up and down the stairs and when my mom asked for help since she arrived first, and they said they don’t help with luggage so she walked everything up the stairs.

Surrounded by Homeless
We pulled in around 11PM and were greeted with screaming homeless and several of them inside the “gated parking” area. We were dismissed by staff when we brought up people inside the gates, scouring for items in cars. We were told “It’s safe, don’t worry about it.” Parking lot is TINY! If you drive an SUV or truck, good luck.

I booked a 3 night stay. During the second and third day the A/C was not working. I brought it up to the front desk attention. I had difficulty sleeping due to the A/C not working and the Sacramento heat it was 113 degrees outside and I stayed on the third floor. The room was warmer than the hallways and the first floor/lobby where the A/C was working. I did not stay the whole day on my final day because my room felt like a sauna.

Terrible check-in experience. Very slow. Then given room right next to elevator- very noisy. Final straw was the morning and unable to get hot water to the shower. Called down to front desk and was told to try the cold water. Slight improvement in water temp but not a hot shower! Would not stay here again and thankful it was only 1 night.

Good hotel in a not so good neighborhood
We needed to be walking distance to the SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity and this seemed to be the best choice. Happy with the room and service except it would have been better if breakfast was available a little later than 9 am. Especially on a Sunday. I would not hesitate to there again if I needed a hotel in that area.
