The hotel staff was exceptional—professional, welcoming, and very accommodating. Shortly after we booked through Expedia, the hotel reached out to offer transportation services. For a fee, they arranged for a driver to pick us up from the airport and later return us for our departure. It was seamless and well-organized. Our flight arrived early in the morning, and although check-in wasn't until after 2 PM, the staff welcomed us warmly. We completed the paperwork, dropped off our luggage, and were able to freshen up using the lobby facilities. When we returned later, our bags were already in the room, and all we had to do was pick up the key. The hotel has a grand, old-world classic charm that makes a strong first impression. We booked a small, standard room—which is exactly what we got. It was clean but a bit worn; the carpet had some stains, the mattress was firm, and the pillows were quite flat. While the room could use some updating, the service and overall experience made up for it. The location is excellent, with several bars and restaurants just steps away, and only a two/three-minute walk to Piazza del Popolo with plenty of high-end shopping. It’s slightly farther from some other major attractions, but still very manageable. I’d definitely stay here again.

The staff were truly top notch, super helpful, positive and kind. Gave great restaurant recommendations and were helpful with transportation. The room was well appointed and spacious except for the space around the bed. Breakfast was lovely and generous with again great staff. Location was stellar for easy walkability and public transportation. The only downfalls I’d say for the junior duplex, I wasn’t aware it was on the first floor (loud street noise at night/morning) or connected to a quite pretty courtyard on the interior side, but we felt like we could never use it as it was often saturated with smokers/smoke. The room was on the warm side too but the thermostat didn’t seem to work, and we couldn’t open the window often because of smokers right below our balcony. I would definitely come back here if I could get a room on a higher floor. Positives far outweighed the negatives

My wife and I had an excellent stay at River Palace Hotel! The room was so quaint and lended itself well to the city’s atmosphere. The service was fantastic, the room was clean and linens were changed daily! The breakfast was delicious and had many options. The hotel is just a short walk away from a host of dinner options. Be careful, the minibar items are quite expensive!

Welcoming staff , decent room, unfortunately the carpet was in need of renewing. We had to request for our deposit of €100 to be refunded three days later. Reservations were very helpful with reserving local restaurants ( St Ana Ristorante was very pleasant). The highlight at the River Palace was the bar and its talented barman.

So, we stayed here in 2019 and the experience was better then than this time around. There have been changes to certain things, such as breakfast which wasn't as good, although good nonetheless. The consumables were somewhat disappointing as shower gel and shampoo was of a much cheaper grade. You have to book early to get a decent size room and bathroom, otherwise be prepared to be disappointed. We had a lovely room in 2019 but this time around we asked to be moved, and although the bedroom was bigger the bathroom was rediculous small for adults. Would we stay again, yes, but this time we'll book earlier. The staff are lovely and very helpful.

Very helpful staff, good breakfast, clean rooms. Nice lounge and bar area. Very good location being close to the Metro for getting to the main sights. Only criticism is the lifts - one ground to first, second down a corridor first to upper levels. Lifts are tiny for the number of residents and it's a problem when staff are trying to use the same lifts - gave up waiting and walked down four levels.

It's a lovely hotel in a very good location, just minutes away from Piazza Popolo in Rome. And also very close to the metro station.
