The building is a gorgeous, modern renovation of a historic property.
Hotel and room Well appointed and comfortable, staff team are attentive and helpful.
Espresso options for breakfast were a plus
Directly next to a bar that is noticeably loud after 11pm then even louder when the bar closes at 2am. Woke me up. I was on a lower floor but be aware. Room was very small but very nice. Bathroom and shower especially beautiful. Window panes and sills very, very dusty.
I arrived after 10pm and found the outer door locked so I called and no one answered. I tried the bar option upon calling a second time and did reach the check-in desk. Lady was very friendly and helpful, but the process was lacking. I even had tried what I thought was the doorbell to no avail. She quickly brought additional towels to our room.
The most egregious issue was that stair access was not actually accessible. Hallway outside the rooms that led to the excessively narrow stairwell was being used as a laundry staging area. Seemed very unsafe in the event of emergency. Probably would not pass inspection.
The carpet in the elevator was horrendous. There was not a discount or any consideration regarding the false advertisement. The shower was good except the lower half of the grout was discolored. Also, there was a missing blanket at the foot of the bed. I did not want to charge for items someone had taken away.
Very good location but construction made it a little difficult to get around on foot. Room was huge and clean, but no housekeeping between nights even though they asked us when we wanted housekeeping to come. I’ve read reviews complaining about noise from nearby railroad. Yes, we could hear it, but it was barely noticeable.
Nice hotel. Striking lobby. Parking was extra $8 but no muss no fuss. Across the street from a marvelou$$$$ steakhouse. Great downtown location. Friendly staff. We we on a low floor facing an alley with locals partying after midnight. Construction started early am. Our unit was okay, shower was great, also king sized bed. But we had some issues getting the Nespresso machine to work ( bad coffee cartridge as it turned out) there were a few maintenance things that were obviously just not taken care of. Nice hotel all in all. 4 Stars. Would probably just have needed a higher quieter floor with a view to rate stellar. On the other hand, we were granted an early checkin and the hotels.com rate was $21 cheaper than any other booking. Fairs fair.
Love the historic building. Our room was very big and well appointed. The location was good for walking to restaurants. I'm not sure I'd walk about alone, but probably would during the daytime. The staff was fine; really didn't have much interaction. Parking is off site, so that is a little issue - especially if raining. But enjoyed it.
The large single pane windows open to a noisy street, with a loud nightclub, drunk and high passers by, revving hot rods, and noisy trains. The hotel, aware of this problem, gives you ear plugs and eye masks, but even with these sleep is impossible.
