Less than ideal
The stay was less than to be desired. To start, we were not greeted. Check-in process was easy. Although the hotel listing states there is elevator access, there was not which could impact those needing that access. The hotel in general smelled moldy and old - carpets throughout were stained and unraveling. Now onto the room...the bed was fine, storage was fine, and there is a microwave and refrigerator. However, cleanliness and maintenance are lacking tremendously. The heater did not work (attempted to use but started smoking and triggered fire alarms), the shower had a sizeable hole that was covered up by tape, the light fixture above the shower was not wet-rated so was dripping rust water all over us and the worst part...the towels had blood and stains throughout so who knows if these were cleaned or reused. Breakfast, I would skip and not even look at it - the meat that was not cooked all the way and the lack of cleanliness bleeds over to here (bad joke). Typically, I generally have an okay to good experience at hotels and have some understanding; however, some of these things I have to point out so other guests are aware. Maybe they will turn a corner but from the lack of customer service and the lack of pride in their everyday, I have my doubts.

The property was fine for a single night stay, but could use improvement. The staff was excellent but the common areas and hallways has water damaged ceilings at various points. The room was mostly nice, but had small issues like stains on the sheets and a plastic bag covering one of the recessed lights. Additional, he breakfast was leaking and many items tasted off andy wife and I felt ill in the afternoon from the food. Another guest commented that there were ants coming out of the coffee machine. With some improvements this property could be a 5 star experience, but as it currently is 3 stars is generous.

Why I chose this hotel? I was looking for a hotel that was close to major highways and a room with a sitting area. This is an older hotel. No elevator. The staff was friendly and accommodating to our needs of having a room on the first floor. The complementary breakfast fit our needs. Coffee, tea, juices, eggs, sausages, different breads, waffles, yogurts, cereals, pastries, bananas. The room had been repainted nicely, was clean and comfy. The sitting area was in a separate room from the bedroom. There was a musty odor in the room at first, which was gone eventually when we turned on the AC. The beds were comfy. The windows had blackout shades. I would stay there again and I think this hotel deserves a bit better rating than just the 2 solid stars.

College family weekend
The space was amazing. But i got stuck in the bathroom because i couldn't get the pocket door unstuck, tv remote wouldn't h work and the bedroom had a funky smell in it. But we were there for a family weekend at a college so we weren't there much. The staff were very friendly and they did reprogram the remote. Breakfast was good.

Gross is the word that comes to mind. Room was damp and smelled musty. Clean bed and ac worked. hairdryer broken. When reported to staff had to go to so other room to dry my hair. No effort to replace. Breakfast lacking in taste/quality. Supposed to stay 2 nights but left after one. Not worth what I paid.
