We've stayed at many Rio hotels over the years, and unfortunately hotels in this world-class destination can often seem indifferent. They tend to be dated, not perfectly kept up, in need of cleaning, noisy, or with half-hearted service, a classic Rio complaint. Arena Leme was different. Everything crisp, new, clean, well maintained up. Service attentive and courteous. No need to even mention the fabulous views and location in the quietest corner of Copacabana /Leme beach, which still means it's buzzing with activity. Well done, Arena.

Hotel is solid, a bit outdated. Staff is welcoming. Breakfast is ok, not too fancy. Location is absolutely fantastic, at the quiet area of copacabana. Tip: don’t stay at the lower floors where the street noise may interfere.

The property is very conveniently located with multiple dining options within walking distance on the strip. There are many cafes, pharmacies and supermarkets close by and literally a min walk away from the beach. Staff is nice and friendly and most if not all of the front desk staff speaks English.

Just two suggestions. On the buffet, may be have more options like chicken/beef; some people like us, we dont eat pork. I need it an iron, but this hotel does not have iron. I needed it for wrinkle shirt/dress.

The location and breakfast were excellent. However, several issues made the stay frustrating. Be careful not to take the water bottles from the refrigerator—there’s a steep charge, with no warning about it. If I had known, I would have bought a case of water down the street for a fraction of the cost. Even though housekeeping did not clean the room daily or replenish water, I was charged for four bottles every day for five days. The shower stall was poorly designed, so the water didn’t drain properly. After I raised the concern, they moved us to another room and admitted it was a design flaw rather than a drain issue. The new room had the same drainage problem, though slightly better. On top of that, the house phone in the new room didn’t work. They promised an IT technician would fix it on Monday, but no one ever came before we checked out.
