It's a beautiful old hotel that has been renovated. The staff was friendly and helpful. Valet parking was simple, and the attendants were great. The room was clean and is what you would expect for the price. The only downside of my room was the view of the building next to us and there was no fridge in the room. This was my first time staying in Richmond, I had a great time in the city and when I return, I would definitely stay at the Berkeley.

The Berkely Hotel is a charming well maintained hotel in a great location for Richmond (Shockoe Slip). The only negative for me and my wife is that the rooms are dated and need some amenities to be added, most notably power outlets 120 v and USB and a refrigerator. I understand they are starting next year on a renovation plan. Unfortunately, the room rate will go up (most likely) As it is now it is a good value!

Hotel is in desirerable location. Friendly staff. Will be undergoing renovations starting in 3 weeks. Renovations will go floor by floor. Restaurant in the hotel was nice. Valet parking was no more expensive than garages in the area.
