Was in room 12 ground floor. At 0450 was awoken by noise from corridor doors opening/closing, this lasted for 25 minutes, then could smell smoke as if someone now smoking in corridor. Spoke to reception who said sorry to hear that.
Very impressed with our Executive room, nice size room and bathroom. Only suggestion is that bigger towel rails are fitted in the bathroom. To be eco friendly and reuse the towels, larger rails are needed so the towels can dry.
Stay was good. Room was ok, fan was VERY noisy in bathroom so had to switch off. No batteries in tv remote either.
One bonus was there are Tesla superchargers at this site which for me was an added bonus.
Room smaller than expected. Curtains don’t close all the way. Bath tub curtain way too short. Water drips out when showering. Carpet not vacuumed. Has no view.
Ambience good. Breakfast good w lots of options. Kitchen staff good and helpful.

Average experience
We were staying there to attend a wedding at Middleton Lodge. Our room was on first floor and there was no lift. The whole property is tired looking. The English Flag and the Property flag at the entrance is in tatters and dirty, in a way a reflection of the tired state of the hotel. Service was matter of fact. I had stayed at another Holiday Inn last month in a different city and my experience was totally different. Felt it did not live up to the Holiday Inn name and standards.
