Large comfortable rooms. Cozy fireplace and puzzle table in public lounge area. Very helpful and friendly staff. We didn’t have time to take advantage of the beautiful spa amenities. We highly recommend a stay here if you are visiting the Blue Lagoon.

We absolutely love this hotel not far from the airport 25 minutes drive if you’re planning to go to the blue Lagoon it’s a four minute drive just down the road. It was perfect. They also do wake up calls to see the northern lights, which is fantastic.

The staff is excellent! They are accommodating and friendly. I had dinner at Max’s, and it was absolutely delicious! The location is great for the blue lagoon and the volcano hike. Shuttles to the blue lagoon are really easy. I really enjoyed my stay!

This was my least favorite of the hotels we stayed at in Iceland. The proximity to The Blue Lagoon was the main perk, since we had an early reservation. The breakfast was also decent. However, the sulfur smell from the adjacent geothermal power plant was pervasive, the bed & especially pillows were not the most comfortable, and the room was not especially inviting. This was also the most expensive hotel we stayed at, so it being the least comfortable was disappointing.

The hotel was nice. Staff was friendly. It was nice to have restaurant on site. It was also nice to be close to Blue Lagoon for an 0800 appointment. The hotel also gives wake up call for sightings of the Northern Lights. I would stay here again.

If you want something out of the way but very close to the blue lagoon this hotel is it! There’s nothing close by except the blue lagoon. Upon checking in to dkevking out the staff was amazing! Great food at the restaurant

The geothermal plant was extremely loud- like sleeping next to a busy freeway. The property itself was very nice, and the landscape around it unique. The front desk staff was very kind and informative. I blame myself for not doing better research on the details. It was more expensive then I thought, and Spa access was an additional charge. For the price and general proximity, If I were to do this trip again I would not stay here the price : benefit ratio isn't what I was imagined.

So this is a very old property. Basically, like a motel. It needs an extensive updating to offer value proportional to its cost. The staff was great. Everywhere in the hotel you hear the geothermal plant…which is also the only available view. Really not worth the money

Enjoyable!

Our room was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. The common areas were lovely and very inviting. The buffet style breakfast was massive and quite delicious. The staff was helpful and arranged transportation for us. They also offered to wake us if the Northern Lights were spotted. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The Northern Lights Inn is very well located for visiting the Blue Lagoon (only a couple of mins drive away) but it is right next to the power station - this was fine for us visiting in autumn as we didn’t need to open the windows, but in summer it would be quite noisy with open windows. The room was comfortable but I thought overall it was overly expensive, even for Iceland.
