Wonderful! The bed was extremely comfortable, we both slept very well and our backs appreciated the bed. Very interesting antiques throughout which we enjoyed. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. We would gladly stay there again.

maybe i was given the wrong room. i booked a room with a mountain view and kitchenette. we chose this hotel for the kitchenette- but there was none. and we had a kfc view, not a mountain view. i wish they'd ban smoking outside doors - cigarettes smoke prevented us from having the balcony door open.

I was tired and did not see much of the property but had a free gull with a local guy and good conversation and got a load of laundry done only bad thing breakfast was served later than i wanted to stay so I missed it and that was my choice perfect launching point for the golden circle

The parking was a bit confusing. We were 2 people but only 1 glass, not enough cutlery for 2 people. I would also suggest that extra towels would be a nice option...otherwise small but perfect for 2 people

Watch out for hidden fees

On check in I was told I had to pay a tourist tax, which I did assuming it was normal in the Reykjavik area. However afterwards I checked the booking receipt and it claimed that taxes were included in the price. Also some internet research suggests tourist tax applies throughout Iceland yet all the other hotels we stayed at included it in the price.

We loved our stay at Hotel Laxnes. The staff were friendly and welcoming! There was space in the fridge for groceries, which was a plus since we stocked up for our trip to the South the next day. The room was clean and comfortable, and we had a good rest—ready for our Iceland adventure. I truly recommend this hotel.

Served its purpose. We only slept here for one night, and I can’t say that we would have stayed for more. For the Americans traveling through, this “hotel,” is what we would define as a motel. Also, something very important to note, there is a cutoff for check-in! You need to arrive before 2200ish.
