This was our first time staying at an AmericInn property and we didn't know what to expect. Expedia had a really good deal and we jumped at the opportunity since this was a last minute trip. From the exterior the hotel itself looked fine, it was the surrounding area where we felt a little uneasy. The grounds seemed kept up and the parking lot was well lit, except for the east side of the property. The lobby was fine but very dim, however the front desk agents were very welcoming and kind. There was a certain smell throughout the hallways and our room smelt the worse. We couldn't tell if it was mold, old food, or just odor from previous customers. We used room fresheners and it was bearable. I did love that the rooms weren't all carpet, just the area around the bed. The couch/sofa bed seemed very dingy and it felt like it hasn't been thoroughly cleaned in a very long time. We just put sheets on top of it and made do. The bed and pillows were comfy and some electrical sockets weren't working. The bathroom itself and bathtub was ok, but the toilet seat was very loose. Also, the water would stay hot and then turn to warm no matter how hot you turn the knob. The only plus was the water pressure of the shower head, it was very strong. The pool area wasn't the greatest and the strong smell of chlorine was enough to make you lightheaded and give you a headache. A really good deep clean and renovation would be ideal. Overall our stay was fine, but will probably pass the next time.
