The Serenade All Suites Adults Only resort was great value for the price. The rooms were very clean and secure, and the beds were comfortable but they need new pillows. We felt safe both at the resort and while walking the beach. Joel at the main lobby bar was amazing. Always smiling and happy to serve you. Martha at La Palapa was fantastic and went above and beyond for us and especially my friend who was not feeling 100%. She greeted us with a big smile every day and treated us like family! The buffet restaurant was great. There was a lot of variety and the quality was very good especially the grilled shrimp and fish. I’ve been to a number of different resorts in Punta Cana and I find most resorts don’t do a good job at specialty restaurants unless you go high end. Serenade was no different. The only specialty restaurant that our group of six adults semi-enjoyed was the steak house. The food wasn’t too bad but our server made it an unpleasant experience. He rushed us from the moment we sat down until we left, although there wasn’t another seating after us (as it was low season). The teppanyaki at the Japanese restaurant was very entertaining. Our group laughed a lot during the cooking. Overall our group had a fantastic time and would return if we were looking for an inexpensive getaway.

Room condition was not great. At arrival, they couldn’t let me in because the door was broken and the maid was locked inside. I was locked inside/outside 3x and had to call for maintenance. I didn’t feel fully safe because I knew that could happen again at anytime. Also, the hair drier was not working, and the shower had low water pressure. The fan button was broken so I couldn’t turn it off/on during 7 days. I also thought that coffee/water service in the breakfast buffet was not good. I had to ask multiple times to get coffee or water. I would suggest the resort to create a coffee and water station so guests can serve themselves. I also had bad experience with room service. I called a few times and nobody would ever pick up the phone. I also ordered once and it didn’t come, they later told me that I had ordered from the other side of the resort (I was at the adults only side) but I had no idea, the number was provided on the app). The staff overall is very friendly and food is good, however, I wasn’t explained anything during check in, and had to figure out things by myself or asking them along the week (i.e where to get pool towels, where breakfast was served, or how to get room service, etc.)

Room was dirty at check in . Bed had stains and looked like puke on floor and then housekeeping was bad. Never changing sheets and we marked with eye liner to tell if they were changed. Continuous issues with tv and and restaurant menu not matching app or app not even working. Would not return here.

Amidst several smaller problems, there was one incident that sums up our experience. During our stay a bartender wrung out a mop with her bare hands, quickly rinsed them WITHOUT using soap. Then proceeded to make my wife and I drinks. It was disgusting, and after trying to work something out with guest services we were rebuffed. Offered a late checkout (we were leaving early anyways), or access to the expensive liquor for future bar visits (On our 2nd last day). For an all inclusive were we already have access to unlimited booze, it was a pitiful attempt to make up for what happened. Would not stay here again, a disappointment from the first day.
