Villa Toucan - Romantic Oceanview Paradise with FibOp Internet

Villa Toucan is a private ocean view and rainforest villa on the edge of the virgin rainforest where guests are immersed in an intense experience of wildlife and energy all in the comforts of tropical accommodations.

It is located within the Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge in Punta Uva on the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica.
The house is 1 km from the turquoise colored waters of the Caribbean Sea where you can enjoy beautiful virgin beaches, snorkeling over the coral reefs, kayaking, wildlife hikes, horseback riding and just plainly relaxing.

Guests at Villa Toucan are assured to see dozens of toucans everyday in addition to several kinds of monkeys, sloths, colorful frogs, morpho butterflies, hummingbirds, countless varieties of birds and exotic insects.

We have cats at our main house next door, but they do not enter the bedrooms and always stay outside.

Designed as a vacation house for families and honeymoons, the villa comes fully equipped and can comfortably sleep up to 4 people. There are 2 bedrooms, each with its own private balcony, outdoor bathroom and private garden, a full kitchen, dining area, a wildlife terrace and a Hammock hut. Guests rent the entire house - whether you are one or four people.

Both bedrooms have 2 king size beds that can be converted into 2 twins if needed. Each bedroom has it's own private balcony overlooking the rainforest and large exterior outdoor bathrooms. The floors and cathedral ceilings are made of beautiful local hardwoods.

Both bedrooms come fully furnished with linens and pillows, beach and bathroom towels, clothing hangers, ceiling fans, a working desk, bedside tables and lamps, comforters for cool nights and hand picked literature on local topics of interest. There is also a hidden locked safe where you can protect your valuables.

We have 15 MG of high speed fiber optic internet for those who need to be connected in the beautiful tropics!

A 4x4 vehicle is recommended but NOT necessary. We do live up a steep hill, but should be perfectly fine with a regular car.
Make yourself comfortable in this villa, featuring a kitchen with a refrigerator and a stovetop. There's a private balcony. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected. Conveniences include a desk and a coffee/tea maker, and housekeeping is provided on a limited basis.
Take in the views from a garden and make use of amenities such as barbecue grills.
Guests will find features like internet access and onsite parking.

Magical place
My teenage son and I stayed here for four nights. We originally debated between staying on the water versus this place, but decided that the rain forest would be a more unique experience and more fitting to the area. It was a good choice and turned out to be amazing. We spent two hours every morning and late afternoon relaxing on the porch or in the hammocks watching the wildlife. We saw many, many types of birds and frogs, and monkeys swinging on trees in the distance (those were actually hard to catch). The sounds of the forest were spectacular and like nothing I had ever heard before. We regularly visited the beach nearby, soft sand with perfectly clear turquoise water and very few other visitors at this time of year. The food scene in the area was impressive and a surprise to us - we didn't have a single bad or even mediocre meal. If you are looking for an immersive experience, I highly recommend this place. Do take not of the heat and humidity, it takes some adjustment if you are not used to it (and a lot fans!)

A place worth returning to!
This was our second time staying at Villa Toucan. We love the place. It has more wildlife than anywhere else we've been in Costa Rica. Oropendolas, Macaws, Toucans, and Bat Falcons all nesting right in view of the outdoor kitchen. This place also has a large concentration of snakes, spiders, and beautiful Poison Dart Frogs. It's in your face wilderness! The house is tucked up into Manzanillo National Park with a nice walk to one of the prettiest beaches we've seen. We will return again!

I didn't want to leave!
Wow! This place is by far the most enchanting and tranquil places i have ever stayed. It was convenient to local stores, sodas, and activities. It was clean and I could stare at the view all day and night. The sounds of the rainforest are absolutely beautiful. The outdoor bathroom and shower are an experience all by itself. I have never wanted to spend so much time in one place. I have nothing but positive things to say about this place and look forward to returning one day. If you want an authentic Costa Rican experience....this is it! We saw several species of monkeys, birds and other creatures right from the deck. Dont miss out on this place! Book today!

Jungle Villa
Unbelievable view and location. I will definitely be back. I wish I could have stayed forever. The space is lovely and was spotless when we arrived. The driveway, while steep, is very well maintained. And, the grounds are magnificent! Thank you for sharing it with us Maya and Manuel.

Amazing spot
This place is impossible to explain. You have to be there to know how magical it is. The wildlife is so dense it could be scary for some people. The big tree has about a hundred Oropendola nests in it, and a Green Macaw nest. The tree next to it has a pair of Bat Falcons nesting in it. The first night we were there we heard big cats in the woods real close to the house. We also saw a couple of snake species, and more beautiful poison dart frogs than we could count. From the house there is a view of the ocean over the rain-forest. We have never stayed in a place more immersed in nature.
