The walls look like a set from a prison movie. They are coated in years of dirt and stains. Couldn’t shower as would have come out dirtier.
We were given an”upgrade” and can’t imagine what the regular room could be like.
Support from hotels.com was a waste of time. Checked out after one gross night on stained sheets and manager tried to overcharge.
Photos can’t show how bad this place is. This isn’t like the daily cleaners aren’t doing their tasks, the floor was clean, the entire place needs an overhaul.
DEEP CLEAN YOUR ROOMS FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER!
I was only one night there but everything was great. It's quite close to the downtown core; only about a block. The breakfast was good and there was more than one option. Instant coffee though, but that seems to be the norm in many places. The bed and linens were nice, the AC worked. My room - #3 had a view to all of the junk on the rooftop but that did not affect the comfort of the room.

Conveniently located
Close to everything. Very friendly staff. Best breakfast for the price. Eggs and omelets made to order each morning, juice, toast, ham and cheese.

Basic hotel in good location (cash only!)
Decent hotel in good location -- close to heart of town but on a hill with great view from breakfast room with balcony on top floor. They take only cash (which was not noted when I made reservation). Breakfast included was okay -- no fresh fruit or yoghurt, but good coffee and eggs. Sheets are thin which gives you a weird feeling - I think that would improve stay significantly. They were renovating/adding to hotel so I expect in future it will have better appearance.

Decent place in good location (cash only)
Gloria-Galapagos Inn is well located but fairly basic. We stayed during high season (Christmas week) and paid a fair amount ($160 for two rooms for total of 5 people). Cash only, which I don't think they tell you when you book. The sheets were thin, and there is only shampoo in the shower (no conditioner). But the hotel is clean and the manager in the morning was very nice and welcoming, and breakfast was good (although again basic, just eggs and toast, no fresh fruit or yogurt). Breakfast is on top floor which is new and has a great view of town of Puerto Ayora and the harbor.
Check in went well. The hotel was very accommodating. There were 4 of us (my brother who made the reservation was sick so didn't go on the trip). The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was decent. The hotel is close enough to catch local tours and trips to other islands. We left early so didn't eat breakfast. We ended up staying there again before we left the islands.
this property is in bad condition - I can't recommend - also booked/paid for a 'bayview' room but got a large dorm style room very loud and noisy --- find another place....
Anthony (Gloria's son) was really helpful making an itinerary for our stay in Santa Cruz and our triple bed room was perfect for our needs. He made a fantastic breakfast in the morning too! Wifi was slow, but it worked, and is slow everywhere on the island. Nice patio on our floor. Part of the building is under construction/renovation, and the staircase probably wouldn't pass safety standard codes in the States, but it was fine!
This hotel was nice and located in walking distance to restaurants and the coastline. The breakfast was delicious and they make you real fruit juice! It is family owned and they were super flexible when I had two canceled flights. There wasn't a TV in my room and the internet is spotty. I heard from a native that internet is satellite so that's why its spotty in most places on the islands. The room had a/c and hot water, which i heard is a bonus in the islands. I didn't see an elevator, so pack lightly. We had to go up some stairs but the gorgeous view of the ocean was worth it. I would definitely stay here again.
Seevice was great, rooms were great, everything was just fantastic. Compared to the other "3-star" hotels, this was a palace! It's nearby everything you need, has the benefits of an expensive hotel (very clean, great service), and at a great price. (They recently installed satellite tv in the rooms too). We will definitely stay here again when we return.
