Private Cabin on Spring Fed Pond. Hiking, Hunting, Fishing and Serenity!

Relax off the beaten path and enjoy the breathtaking scenery Western New York has to offer. The cabin is located just five miles from StonyBrook State Park and 30 miles from world-famous Letchworth State Park. Niagara Falls is 70 miles from the location. Must see. There is excellent hiking just walking distance from the cabin on Canaseraga Creek. There on some waterfalls you will come across the old power plant that used to power the town of Canaseraga in the early nineteen hundreds. Our home is actually the Old Mill House that went along with the plant built in 1901.
If you enjoy outdoor recreation, this is the place for you. If you desire privacy in a peaceful country setting, this is also for you! Several Lakes not far off for kayaking. The pond where the cabin is located is spring fed and suitable for swimming. About ten miles down the road is a place called Swain Swamp which is a Fisherman's Paradise for bass, perch, catfish, walleyes and sunnies. No boat needed. The cabin is equipped with a kitchenette set up. Including pots and pans, dishes, wine glasses, silverware, etc. There is a small tabletop propane grill and also a two-burner propane stove. Two comfortable futons will be your sofas in the daytime and your beds at night. I provide comfy linens upon request. The bathroom setup is a camp toilet in an outdoor privacy tent. The current shower is a battery powered shower in a double privacy tent as well. There is a camp sink where you can wash hands, brush teeth, wash face, et cetera on the covered porch. Lighting is by solar, USB and battery powered lamps inside and out. There is no running water or electric in the cabin however I have had many satisfied guests with the alternatives I have provided. I am pet friendly but please bring throws for the furniture to prevent any pet hair buildup.
The cabin is located on the opposite end of the pasture from my Homestead. You will see the barns from the cabin although there are trees in between for privacy. This means you will also see cows, horses, goats and a variety of critters we have roaming the pasture. The animals are not present in the cabin space. If you would like to meet any of our friendly critters please let us know. We will be happy to make an introduction! Plenty of wood is provided for the indoor woodstove and outdoor campfire. Shotguns, rifles, bows, etc. are welcome during hunting season and any other time when "legally" possessed. The zone here is 9Y. the cabin is located on the Tri-County border of Allegany, Livingston and Steuben counties which have plenty of state land for hunting season.
Make yourself comfortable in this apartment, which has a kitchen. There's a private patio. A kitchenette is outfitted with a stovetop. Conveniences include a coffee/tea maker and a sofa bed.
Take in the views from a garden and make use of amenities such as barbecue grills.
Guests will find features like onsite parking.

Absolutely terrible experience! Rude owner!
I honestly was looking so forward to getting away. She makes it sound so amazing in the overview. While the cabin is pretty much as pictured, the pond and property are not. There is goose poop everywhere the grass is overgrown. I should have known when i got an email the day of telling me now i have to bring my own propane tank.i asked her if it was completely secluded quickly after booking. She assured me that it was, but its not. You can see her house and yard from the cabin. The man made rock stairs are nice, but unstable. When i told the homeowner. She said they had a hurricane 3 weeks ago and had consecutive people staying there, thats why they werent fixed. Wouldnt you want to reduce your risk of your guests getting hurt. The grass was extremely tall and not maintained. I get youre in nature, but break out the weedwacker at least around the bathroom and shower areas. The pond was unswimmable. It clearly states in her overview the pond is spring fed and swimmable. Does not state specific time of year. When i mentioned she stated i should have asked about the pond sooner. Why would i ask when it states its swimmable? I asked for a full refund. Owner agreed minus $60 cleaning fee. Now mind you i was there less than an hour, but i did enter the cabin so i ageed. Problem is owner kept $250 and hasnt responded. Save yourself the aggravation and go somewhere else!

Peace and tranquility
Loved the cabin. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The property was just lovely. Alexandra was the perfect host. They brought us a big pile of firewood to roast our marshmallows. She tried to bring her goat to meet our corgi pups but they just barked and barked. It was a real treat to visit Stony Brook State Park near by. It has a huge natural amazing swimming pool at the bottom of the waterfalls. Also Letchworth State Park is only 25 minutes away. We really enjoyed the views at this park also. I would highly recommend staying at this property especially if you have dogs You won’t be disappointed.

Off grid yet close to town
Check in was easy, they even got the wood burning stove warmed up for us. No plumbing or electricity, but the amenities provided were suitable. Great location just minutes to town.
