Parking @62$ a night is outrageous, especially when the valet isn’t at the stand 2/3 times you go out to leave your keys. It’s not a convenient location for valet in general, there’s space for two cars to wait for valet in front of the hotel. Otherwise you block traffic. The walls are very thin— even with the noise machine you WILL hear what your neighbors are doing.

This isn’t a normal hotel. The check in lobby is a chic gay bar. I’m by no means homophobic, but I didn’t realise this when I booked the hotel, or that I would be checking in with a bar tender. From a management standpoint, that is too much to ask of hospitality staff. It’s got to be stressful mixing a cocktails and checking people in. When I checked in, the staff that served me appeared stressed out. Tried to argue with me about what a government issued photo ID is, didn’t accept my state id, so I walked back to the car to retrieve my passport. I should have brought it with me anyways because that area of Portland isn’t the safest place to park your EV. So rough start. The hallways and the elevator are pretty stylish if you like a Wes Anderson type of atmosphere. The room wasn’t great. Was clean. My room did not have a coffee maker, water bottle, fridge, or microwave. The ceiling is unfinished concrete, has holes, and not connected to some parts of the walls. Consequently, it’s very noisy. I heard other peoples conversations as clearly as if they were laying next to me in bed. I should have used the noise cancelling device provided. Oh well. Went to the bar because i couldn’t fall asleep. Connor was an exemplary bar tender, drinks are great! I would come back for the atmosphere and drinks at the bar, but not the room. This hotel needs a separate lobby, with a check in person and the ads should indicate exactly how gay friendly the place is. Only time I wished I was queer.

This new property was in a convenient area for eating and visiting downtown Portland. They have a white noise machines that work well as the walls are a bit thin. The building, rooms and furniture is all very new. We were lucky enough to find city parking spots on the street and it is free over night. Free beverage with check in.
