This wonderful house had beautiful views, was centrally located and had friendly helpful owners. I highly recommend this property. We were able to see all the D-Day sites we wanted, visited Mont St Michel and the city of Normandel for my husbands ancestry. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked and showers were nice.

Lovely seaside home in an adorable Norman town.
The home is just so ancient and lovely and well equipped. We just loved the town, all the great brasserie, cafes, dining and shopping choices. It’s just perfectly located to see Normandy. The sleeping sitch is a little confusing per the listing. There’s a euro-king upstairs 2 bedrooms on the bottom level (that are connected), one with a euro-king and the other with 2 twins (which can be pushed together to make a euro-king). The couch is a pull-out type and would be ok for a young kid up to maybe a teen but not suitable for an adult with any mileage on you! Minor issue if you’re a flexible crew…it’s a great little spot and the owners were super sweet kept up great communication.

Exceptional!
This may be one of the best (if not the best) VRBO properties we have ever stayed in. Every (and I mean every) detail is exquisite: location, home decor, quality of bedding/linens, proximity to sites, view from every window, and the lovely and welcoming approach and communication by the owners. My family and I stayed several nights for our first trip to Normandy, and this home was the definite highlight of the trip. Staying in such a beautiful and historical space (with all the modern elements you could ever need) made this trip even more memorable. We are truly, truly grateful to the owners for their generosity and trust in opening such a beautiful home to guests from around the world. Their thoughtfulness in considering what guests may need or have a whim for is truly inspiring. You will not regret staying here, and you will want to return. We just got home and already want to go back and sit on the patio to watch the fishing boats go in and out with the tide. Thank you to the hosts again for an incredible experience! You are the best of what VRBO offers its customers when it comes to hosting homes and quality of service and experience. Truly exceptional!

Bucket List Trip - Normandy
This was a trip we have wanted to take for a very long time and this home was the perfect stay for the four of us (2 couples). The home is well taken care of, super clean, and shown lots of love. The furnishings are perfect and comfortable for this picturesque home on the channel. You can sit and literally watch the tide roll out or you can walk on the sandy bottom with oysters and clams or watch the tide roll in. The kitchen is small but extremely useful and stocked with what you need to cook and enjoy a meal. The beds are comfy and you love snuggling in at night. You are steps from excellent restaurants and simple shopping and the fishing docks. It's magnificent to watch the fishing boats coming in at right outside your window/terrace. Take a stroll down to the docks and see all the lights, color and catch. It's fascinating. The thing that may not matter to some but we were totally impressed with was the window treatments. The upstairs bedroom totally backs out and you do know if it's day or night. The owner Franck-Etienne Vouilloux was wonderful and so very kind and helpful. We will definitely stay here again if back in Normandy. It was the prefect choice.

Wonderful winter stay
We spent a wonderful Christmas and NYE at Anne-Sophie and Franck-Etienne’s beautiful townhouse. The views of the water are stunning and peaceful and the fireplace was very cozy to come home to after long days of sight seeing. The townhouse itself is lovely, as are the sweet hosts who thought of everything, including plastic dishes for our toddler. We also enjoyed the farmer’s market on Sundays in addition to the fish market down the road. Overall a really great vacation and the past reviews are all spot on!

The best home rental ever
The home is absolutely stunning! Pictures do not do it justice, it is more amazing and like a beautiful fairy tale overlooking the ocean. The home is on a small and quiet street lined with other whimsical homes. The place is well equipped we cooked a Thanksgiving dinner there. There is a delicious Boulangerie nearby and a fisherman market. We bought fresh seafood, which is unparalleled. The location is next to Omaha beach and close to the American cemetery. It was a quick 20 minute drive tow Bayeux, and 90 minute drive to Mont st Michel and honfleur. Location is very central and cannot be beat. This house checked all the boxes and has two full bathrooms with toilets along with washer. My family lived this place so much that we want to return in the near future. Frank is a gracious host, took the time to show us the entire house and how to work appliances. This home will give you and your family a lifetime of happy memories.

We felt like we were living in a storybook or movie setting in this charming home. Located right on the water in Normandie, it is just a few steps to numerous cafes and restaurants and shops. It was very clean and well-appointed and Franck made check-in very easy. He communicated very well and even helped arrange a taxi back to the train station for us on our departure. Definitely recommend this property.

Great Vacation home
We just spent a week in this former fisherman’s house. After traveling in Europe for 24 years this was by far the very best place we have stayed in. Beautiful house, spacious and bright. Lovely views of the port and sea from many rooms; and the great terrace. We ate out there four times having obtained fresh seafood from the fisherman’s market just steps from our door. It was easy to take day trips to all D-day sites and into Bayeux, Dinah, Dinard and even Honfleur. Much thought into every aspect of the house. Great artistic details and comfort. Showers and beds perfect. Kitchen had everything needed. Lots of nice shops and restaurants in town. Parking nearby provided. It was hard to leave the house everyday. John and Karyn Reed

We, a family of five including grandma and kids, stayed in early June. It was a wonderful experience! The house is equipped with everything one would need. It was amazing looking out at the sea and tracking the tides from the upstairs bedroom - with a huge window to let in the fresh sea air. Brunch on the balcony was amazing. Loved the old cobblestone streets and walking every morning to the bakery to get fresh bread and pastries. Owners were very friendly and accomodating. Lovely, relaxed little town. Highly recommend this property!

What a beautiful home with breathtaking views of the English Channel! We loved the house and the location. The pictures don’t do the house justice - it’s charming and lovely. Franck and Anne-Sophie are wonderful hosts. They responded quickly to any questions we had. We based out of this location for ten days to see all the historical sights regarding the D-Day events and it was always nice to come “home” each evening to relax. The village of Port en Bessin offers many restaurants within a walkable distance and a grocery store is a short 5 minute drive away. Beautiful home and warm, friendly hosts! We had a wonderful experience and hope to return!

Incredible - Incroyable
Our week-long stay at this very lovely Une Terrasse sur la Mer went by way too quickly. The house, the location, the amenities, the views, the hosts - everything was top-notch. The attention to detail is amazing. The house has been remodeled to very high standards and very tastefully and comfortably furnished. The lay-out is interesting, and the kitchen although small in appearance is huge in the way it is supplied with every cooking utensil needed. The dishware is beautiful. Our praise of this vacation home is limitless. We have been traveling for 6 continual years in Europe and staying in many rentals. Une Terrasse sur la Mer is at the top of the list of the very best. If you are coming to see the D-Day Beaches, everything is so near-by. Plus the Bayeux Tappisserie is also near. The little town of Port-en-Bessin has charm. Kuddos to the Anne-Sophie and Franck-Etienne. They have created a perfect vacation home.

A very happy stay in a fabulous house
We had a wonderful time in this house. It has been beautifully renovated, and very stylishly decorated. It was all very clean and organised, plus exceptionally well equipped. There was a free car park a few seconds away which was very handy. We all absolutely loved sitting at the dining room table looking out at the view of the harbour and sea, and wish we had had warmer weather so we could have sat out on the terrace too! We were very cosy inside and there was always plenty of hot water for us all. We really enjoyed staying in Port En Bessin - lots of restaurants, cafes, a large (plus small) supermarket and the chance to walk along the cliff tops from the town. The town is right in the middle of the WW2 beaches so extremely well placed, plus we could also be parked up in the centre of Bayeux in under 15 minutes. This part of France is so worth visiting and there are lots of extraordinary museums and places to visit, as well as glorious beaches and walks, The owners were very charming and really helpful, including answering any messages very promptly. They had very kindly left us a basket with wine, Pâtés and fresh eggs. We all would heartily recommend the house and the location. We had a really great stay in this very special house and were very sorry to leave. Our thanks to Anne-Sophie et Franck-Étienne.

Thank you to the owner to for the information he provided as well as the books and booklets available regarding the sites to visit close by. Great location to discover Normandy. Day trip to Mont-St Michel, and very close to the Second World War important sites, and to Bayeux where the famous tapestry is a must see.

A wonerful Christmas in a beautiful gite & attractive fishing village
This gite couldn't have been any better for our Christmas stay in Normandy. It has a mix of old & new but overall is contemporary in feel. It is even better than the photos suggest! The kitchen, although a small area had no restrictions for cooking our Christmas meal on Christmas Eve as the natives do - in fact it was brilliantly equipped. A lovely large fridge was a bonus. We all found the beds comfortable & the view from the master bedroom is superb. We loved watching the fishing boats go out to sea then return much later. The gite is in a superb position in the little town; just out of the centre but literally a two minute walk to the bustle of the fishing boats, market, shops & restaurants. Also superbly placed for Bayeux, the WWII cemeteries & the landing beaches. The car parking is just up the road, about a minutes walk & very convenient. We've been to France many times & to different areas & this was definitely one of our favourite stays. We cannot recommend the gite or town highly enough. Merci beaucoup to the owners for our lovely Christmas tree & decorations & especially the Christmas hamper which we all thoroughly enjoyed.

A beautiful property in a stunning location.
This property has been decorated to a very high standard, much more than just a home from home, stylish furniture and breathtaking views. Franck and Annesophie are very friendly and excellent hosts - it's worth talking to them as they are very knowledgeable about the history and places to visit in Normandy. THere is an excellent modern well equipped kitchen at the property and a 8- Huit mini supermarket in the town and a Super U a bit further on. There are several eateries in the area - however my wife and i are slimming world members (lost 6 stone between us in 6 months) so got fresh fruit/meat/fish and veg every day and cooked at home. I was, i confess lured off the plan by the excellent pate that was in the welcome basket however!. There is so much to see and do in the area, our interest was mainly D Day due to father in law being involved as a Royal Marine on the day at Sword Beach. Port en Besson is very relevant too, as with the help of a local Gendarme it was captured from inland by another Marine detachment, and also where the original fuel pipeline from the Isle of Wight came ashore to fuel all the allied vehicles. Recomend a trip up to Ouesterham & Arromanches - incredible that the mullbery harbours are still there. Very good drive up to Quineville (Utah beach) excellent museum with incredible models and a reconstructed occupation street. The sat nav took us up and over the cliff top golf course near the house - different type of bunkers that you usually see (german wermacht - not sand traps!) Lovely rural drive across the french country side and of course Omaha beach is definitely worth seeing. We were honestly very sorry to leave both the house and the area. We will definitely return.

Our whole experience was first class, starting with a warm welcome from our hosts and a lovely gift of regional produce. The house is presented beautifully, was spotlessly clean and had everything we could possibly need. We spent many an hour on the terrace, taking in its magnificent view over the harbour and watching the comings and goings of the tides, the fishing boats and the bird life. From there it is a mere two minutes walk down to the many and varied restaurants and shops of the little town. All in all a great location and a perfect house to stay in. Thank you so much for you thoughtfulness and your generous hospitality!
