Substandard Rental
Our problems started at checkin. We were sent a pic showing the property and where we should park. The owner had an arrow clearly pointing to the house and not the “cabana”. So we were trying to enter the wrong property. We sent message via the app to the owner as well as left a message on the owner’s phone. Hours later and no response. So we decided to drop back by the property and the tenants of the main house had returned told us they thought we were renting the “cabana”. They were correct. Once we were inside, pics from the listing matched what we saw. However, the pics presented on the Vrbo app did not show the poor condition and cleanliness of the “cabana”. Ants were present in the “living area” and the kitchen. A nice lady came about the time we were entering trying to help. The bed is located upstairs. The low ceiling upstairs was so short that we couldn’t stand up straight. The steps leading up to the loft are so small that you could only go up/down by putting your foot sideways on the step. A bar played music extremely loud and it continued each night till 2 am. No air conditioner in the cabana. It was so hot upstairs with no fan for circulation. We were not able to sleep. After 3 sleepless nights we found alternate accommodations for the last night we were scheduled to be in the “cabana”. We are also disappointed with the lack of support from Vrbo. There are a lot more problem details we could add here but this should be sufficient to convey our feelings.
