11-Bedroom Family Retreat/Wedding - Lake Champlain

Welcome to the famous Point Au Roche Lodge! At the heart of Point Au Roche State Park, this elegant and enormous log cabin is a luxurious escape into nature. The lodge is great for weddings, events and family getaways. It offers 11 bedrooms, each with its own full bath, 5 of which include a jacuzzi tub and fireplace, as well as a screened in gazebo, kitchen, office, and dining.

What People are Saying;
Here are a few kind comments from past Point Au Roche guests:

"The lodge has a very striking appearance inside and out. The location is excellent and close to many activities in both the New York and Vermont sides of Lake Champlain. It is located right across the Point Au Roche State Park"
Aron A.

"As soon as you drive up to the property, you are in awe! The Lodge is absolutely stunning and the mountain views were beautiful! As soon as we walked into the lodge, we were taken away by the beauty of the wood structure, furnishings, and decor!"
Trang N.

"Love this place! Point Au Roche Lodge is our go to place when we're visiting the area. It's like home away from home. Mornings are the best part of the day starting with breakfast and watching the birds."
Tom B.

"What a wonderful get away this was for us. Everyone is so friendly and made us feel very safe and comfortable during our visit. It is located "Far from the Madding Crowd" with balconies overlooking peaceful gardens and birds everywhere. It is also located across from the access road to the State Park hiking trails and beach."
Midge.

The Flower Room features an in-room jacuzzi tub and fireplace, as well as a private deck with Adirondack chairs. This is a corner room with lots of windows, letting the outdoors, nature and morning sunrise shine in. A four poster queen size bed accents the center of the room, perfectly positioned next to the fireplace. The private bath offers dual sinks, a large walk in shower, toilet and bidet.

The Planter, located on the second floor, is the most richly colored room. The space is decorated with elegant burgundy walls, vaulted ceilings, and brick and marble accents on the fireplace, and an in-room jacuzzi really enhance the lush environment. The four-poster, carved, wood queen size bed completes this room perfectly. This corner room offers more windows for viewing the park setting outside and has a deck with Adirondack chairs overlooking the front yard into the park. Five stars are not enough!
Honestly, I wish I could give more stars! This house was exactly as described in the write-up, and then some! The vibe, feel and overall comfort were top notch. (Loved the Himalayan bulbs in the rooms!) There were a total of 21 of us (20 adults and 1 teen). The only place we were on top of each other was the kitchen. Being Italian, there were several cooks at the same time, and we had to move around - but that was our problem for having too many cooks :) We played games, hung out in the great room talking, sat by the fire outside. Went for walks and hikes. The state park is literally across the street with miles and miles of trails to enjoy. The bedrooms were all comfortable and spacious. The third floor bedrooms were the only ‘awkward’ area because one has to pass through part of a bedroom to get upstairs. But that worked for our group. Yuri was wonderful from start to finish. He communicated with me, answered all my pre-stay questions right away. Even during our stay we had to contact him and he was always available. My only request would be to have more pans. I’m sure people can walk away with stuff, and that’s unfortunate. But I knew in advance that we would need larger cooking pans so we brought them. This family getaway was much needed and we look forward to coming back yearly! Thanks for having such a wondeful place!

Very enjoyable stay for large group
This is a former inn, with some remnants of this recent past like an office w/computer/printer/card reader; you can search on Facebook for the name to learn a bit about its history. Tons of space for a large group; there were 14 of us but it could easily have worked for up to 20 or so people. Four of the bedrooms are extra-luxurious with whirlpool baths and bidets, but all are pretty good. Furniture and kitchenware is high quality as you'd expect in a country inn. One drawback: the air conditioning is only in the bedrooms, with window units. The common areas can get stuffy when it's warm (especially the kitchen if you do cooking). The owner should consider getting portable AC units at least for the dining room/game room I think. Tiffanie from Delicious Beauty Catering prepared several group meals for us during the stay, highly recommended!

Awesome space to spread out with a large group.
Great property. Good gathering areas for large numbers, as well as plenty of "quiet" or "private' areas for alone time. Good access to NY and Vermont sites! Loved it. BTW, the property manager was responsive and helpful with any questions. If we do a NY vaca again, would happily come back

AWESOME! Wow, what a gem this was!
This property was truly amazing! It is a stunning luxurious 5-stars chalet! You always hope when you arrive that it looks like the pictures, it was better than the pictures! We had everything we needed to cook meals in the house. The bedroom had private bathroom and many had fireplace inside the bedroom!! Furthermore, we were only about 10/15 min away from anywhere we wanted to go. The owner Yuri was always quick to answer any questions and made the stay easy! His dedication to make our stay pleasant was really outstanding. This home was extremely comfortable and offered everything you could ever need. I highly recommend this property. We unanimously want to come back and rent again this property in the future.

Beautiful Property
I’ve delayed writing this as it is hard to do this property justice! It’s amazing! We were 2 families, people and we used 9 of the 11 bedrooms. Everyone has a lovely time. We were sooo lucky to find this property. It’s a former Inn, but we rented the whole house. Excellent communication from the owner and off site caretaker. They were both most helpful and very responsive. Property itself…it really is 5 star. Cozy sheets and comforters, plush towels, disposables provided (hand soaps, shampoo, etc). There’s even beer on tap for a suggested donation! There are some games and we brought some. There’s an awesome outdoor eating area in the gazebo, but it was too cold for that. The fire place (with wood stacked and ready to go) was delightful. Really every detail is attended to, which makes traveling so much nicer! It’s huge!!! So much space to come together and also to have your own space. One note on bedrooms, just an FYI, 3 bedrooms in the family suite are in their own area and the way it’s built you have to walk through a bedroom to get to the hallway. It’s really a space for families with kids. For us this was a non issue, but if you are 11 couples, that might be consideration. There is also laundry which was great. If you go over the winter holiday, as we did, book things like ski passes and snow mobile tours in advance. We went to Burlington one day. Found a great Pho place and man made salt cave. Downtown Plattsburgh has some cute shops. We went to one of the sugar shops (maple syrup!) and loved chatting with the owner. Montreal is about an hour away. Look up testing/entry requirements in advance. It takes some planning to cross the boarder right now. Great hiking right by the property. Grocery store is close and property has a private chef if you’d like to hire her services. Our only disappointment really was twisted carrot. We tried twice to eat in /order out and we’re told even for ordering out (inquired at 1pm for dinner) that they could not accommodate our group size. And there were plenty of other delicious options. All around, we loved it! I would highly recommend especially for larger groups. Thanks Yuri, Jess, and Robert for hosting us!

Great place for a family get-together
The Point auRoche Lodge was perfect for a family holiday get-together. The bedrooms are spacious and clean with attached bathrooms. We had a cozy fire in the fireplace and there was plenty of seating in the main room. At breakfast we were able to watch the beautiful birds at the bird feeder. Some early risers were able to watch deer walk through the backyard. There were plenty of rooms and the kids loved exploring upstairs and downstairs. There were hiking trails nearby also. This was a perfect place for a large family to gather and still have private space. We look forward to staying at the Point AuRoche lodge again.
