About this property

Thatched farmhouse with large garden a few minutes' walk from a stunning beach

Esther's Field is a stunning 17th-century granite house with thatched roof set into the hillside above the beautiful white sands of Sennen Cove with fantastic views of the beach and sea from almost every window.

Recently completely refurbished, it has 4 bedrooms (all with large beds and white bedlinen : two superking size beds, two singles and one bunk comprising two singles), 4 bathrooms (3 shower rooms and one with both bath and shower), two sitting rooms (both with wood-burning stoves and TV and DVD) and a well-equipped farmhouse kitchen with Rayburn as well as an induction hob and electric oven. The house feels spacious and relaxing - you will enjoy complete peace and seclusion, while still being within walking distance of everything.
The house sits in an acre of private garden with a large central lawn, a gated wildflower meadow, an upper garden, a hidden garden and many little paths and areas to explore. You will find many exotic plants and a summer house full of garden furniture: tables, chairs, benches and steamer chairs so you can relax in every part of the garden. You can walk down to the beautiful white sands of the cove (lovely little shops and restaurants) in about 8 minutes: fabulous for swimmers and surfers too. The house also sits a minute from the coastal path so you can walk straight out of the house onto the breathtaking coastal paths and enjoy the wonderful coastal walks around Land's End and its many coves and beaches and spot some amazing birds, plants and animals. Esther's Field is beautiful in the spring and summer, and a cosy getaway in the winter months too with wood-fires and books to enjoy.

Land's End: The famous Land's End, the most westerly point of Great Britain, is under a mile away. You can see the well-known Longships Lighthouse and the last few outcrops of rock that stretch out in the sea towards the Scilly Isles from the beach in Sennen Cove. A walk along the coastal path from Sennen takes you to Land's End, and to many other beautiful little beaches around this headland.

Nearby towns: St Just, a charming little town with several pubs and shops, is a few miles away. The larger town of Penzance, with its rail link to London, is 8 miles away. Penzance has many fine old buildings, lots of antique shops and art galleries and a whole host of shops. From here you can also take the boat or helicopter to the Scilly Isles. About 40 minutes away by car is St Ives with its famous Tate Art Gallery.

Please note: Esther's Field rental prices include VAT charged at the prevailing rate.
There's a private patio. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. A Smart television and a DVD player are provided for your entertainment, while complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected. The bathroom has a shower and a hair dryer. Conveniences include a microwave and a coffee/tea maker, and housekeeping is provided on a limited basis.
Enjoy recreation amenities such as a water park or take in the view from a garden.
Guests will find features like internet access and onsite parking.

Beautiful house with amazing view
We had a wonderful stay at Esthers field. Driving up the drive upto the beautiful thatched farmhouse was a wow! Once out of the car, the view over Sennen cove was even more wow. The house is beautiful with a lot of character which the In-laws loved! The rooms are very spacious & cosy, the beds were very comfortable and everyone slept well. Shame we couldnt have spent more time in the beautiful gardens due to the very wincy /wet weather! Would highly recommend this as your next stay at sennen cove. Thank you Jules x

Coastal idyll
We have stayed at Esther’s Field a number of times now. The gardens are beautiful and spacious and our boys love exploring there. It’s a short (though steep) stroll down to the beach and the pictures, stunning as they are, don’t do it justice. And what a pleasure to meet Jules in person, who was welcoming and considerate. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

An unforgettable holiday
Esther’s Field is in a perfect location for experiencing the magnificence of Sennen Cove. It was a joy to wake up each morning to hear - and see the sea, and to sit in the sun in the garden. We were very lucky with the weather! The house, especially the kitchen and sitting/dining room are well equipped with ample space for eating together and relaxing in the evening after a long day on the beach or walking on the cliffs.

Fantastic location and very perfect house
This thatched cottage is so pretty! The main reason is that the location is very good, go to the attractions and to the beach seem to be a step away. In addition, the front and back of the house are full of flowers, and you can watch the sea both inside and outside the house, which makes people feel relaxed and happy. The host is very nice! Before leaving, she gave us a letter to take care of everyone. When we got there, we received a Welcome bag, which was prepared with milk, coffee, tea bags, detergent, soap, and was very warm and considerate. We drove nearly 5 hours to arrive, Everyone is tired, but beautiful, stylish, and the wonderful house facing the sea on three sides is our warm home From this house. It takes 22 minutes walk to the Lands End (6 minutes by car). After dinner, we go there to watch the sunset. It seems to be a fairyland on earth. It only takes 13 minutes drive to the Minack Theatre ,The garden and sea view in the theater are very exciting. My son and his wife went to watch a comedy in the evening and they laughed happily and said they will never forget it! We went to the beach in Sennen to watch the sunset, it was very beautiful, and from the path up the mountain go back house ,Suddenly, a full moon rose in front of us, light up the way home .we went to the garden to watch the moon, which made us excited every day. Chasing the sun, chasing the moon and falling asleep. The facilities in the room are very modern, such as TV, induction cooker, oven…, we can cook. There is also wild celery in the garden, we make a very delicious Chinese meal every day, everyone has a good time 。 A week passed quickly, the seven of us also brought a dog and a rabbit, and everyone was very happy. Also visited many exciting attractions nearby. This is my second time to Cornwall, but it's better than the past, and the flowers are more and more, the mountains are full of flowers. Thank you Esther’s Field for allowing us to see and explore up close. I will introduce Esther's Field to all my friends and I will go back again . (From Birmingham,Hong)

Half term break
We have just returned after an amazing weeks stay. The house was superb and had everything you could need. The views from the house were spectacular and we were blessed with amazing weather. The house is an easy walk away from Lands End and we walked to the beach every day. We will definitely look to return in the future.

Esther’s Field
Esther’s Field is a beautiful cottage, looking over Sennen Cove, with lovely walks along the coastal path from the door. ( We used the iWalk Cornwall app which was a perfect for finding the right walk for us. ) The cottage is well equipped and the beds were extremely comfortable, particularly the downstairs room which has french doors with a view over the cove. At the top end of prices for a weeks stay, but the quality and location of the cottage justifies the high price.

Fabulous, comfortable and well equipped properly with wonderful gardens and gorgeous views
We loved staying at Esther’s Field, such a wonderful location above Sennen Cove and Whitesand Beach. Easy access to coastal walks and down into the cove. The house was very well equipped and we loved the extras like the warm outdoor shower to rinse off after a day on the beach! The beds were supremely comfy and everywhere was clean and homely. Although the house has been beautiful refurbished to include all mod cons, there was a lot of original character, plus lovely paintings and photographs. I also loved the shelf of Cornwall-related books, so interesting and helpful. I highly recommend Esther’s Fields!

Sennen - sational!
This quaint old house has looked out over Whitesands Bay at Sennen for hundreds of years and staying here you have the privilege of that great view too. The house has been brought up to modern standards whilst still retaining its antecedents. It is comfortable and well thought out. There’s plenty of parking and a delightful garden divided up into separate little oases. It’s a pleasant walk to Land’s End itself and down to the beach and the coastal path passes within yards of the front door. There’s a car park at the beach but go early on a sunny day or you might not get a space. If tin mines are your thing you can go and see mines and a museum locally. You are also within easy reach of other nice beaches, the Minack Theatre and the communications museum at Porthcurno. For basic supplies there’s a small supermarket within walking distance and a good fish and chip shop alongside the store. Down by the water there are some cafes, a few shops and lots of ice cream! The beach is clean with lovely sand and plenty of space until the tide sweeps in. Currents can be treacherous so if you want to swim or surf it is reassuring that there are life guards on duty. We experienced the traditional Cornish sea mist but the sun broke through to give us some lovely days at the beach. The main bedroom upstairs does not have any curtains and the one downstairs has some uncurtained windows so you might like to take eye masks if this will keep you awake. Other than that we lacked nothing and could not have asked for a better spot to visit this delightful part of the country. I highly recommend the charming Esther’s Field where, as a family, we spent a happy week.
