Spent two nights there downstairs. We didn't get there till after dark. The address and phone number on hotels.com are wrong. They sent a Google map link which was also wrong, it takes you to a guest house two doors down. Probably ok in the day time, but at night you can't see the signs for the corner rooms. We spent ages walking around in the dark, on a very 'busy' Friday night. Tried to ring them, but as I said the number was wrong.
Once we found it, there is no reception. No staff on site. First impressions was that we were staying on a half finished building site. Carpet hurriedly cut and frayed, stud walls not quite finished, light fittings hanging out of the ceiling and cables sticking out of the plasterboard.
Our room lock was dodgy. We couldn't lock the door that night. Had to put a chair up against it.
The double bed was pushed up against the window wall. The window ledge is at eye level and the curtains don't reach the ledge. The windows also don't keep the sound out. I spent the first night scared stiff. Drunk people loudly walking up and down the path just by my head, street lights in my eyes and a door I couldn't lock.
Fire strips missing from the door (which they did put back), overdoor hooks on the fire door, making them ineffective, no storage space, a kettle full of someone else's coffee, & only 1 tea bag. The shower door doesn't close properly, the shaving light doesn't work & only 1 loo had a sanitary bin.
Overall, disappointing.
