About this property

Private Byron Bay Hinterland stunning Queenslander retreat on 20 acres

Our place is a renovated Queenslander-style cottage set on a leafy estate of 20 acres in the Byron Bay Hinterland. It's not too far from Bangalow, Harvest Cafe at Newrybar, Broken Head, Lennox Head, Ballina Airport and a scenic drive to the Byron Bay township. You'll love it because of the privacy, fresh air, quiet setting and the huge outdoor space with lots of birds. We also have a dam and a creek with platypus, fish, turtles, water dragons and water lilies.

The space
This is a very special rural retreat. The picture perfect white Queenslander is beautifully furnished with linen sofa, hand made rugs, designer kitchen and top quality appliances and original Australian teak floors. The house and decks are beautifully maintained. Bedrooms each have a new en-suite bathroom, electric blankets in winter, ceiling fans and luxury bedding. There is also a separate home office and good internet if you wish to work from home during your stay.

With over 500 established pecan trees, creek and dam, wildlife including water dragons, butcher birds, parrots and a platypus, you'll never want to leave. We have a long-term project regenerating native rainforest to support native species on our land. We are proud to have been awarded as a member of the The Wildlife Land Trust in 2023 and are committed to the ongoing preservation of our wildlife habitat. Your stay helps us to continue to do this.

The weather in this area is generally temperate and nights on the balcony can be balmy. Spectacular tropical storms can be enjoyed from the balcony. The Scandinavian pot belly stove is available for colder nights in winter. There is limited phone reception on the property, though the wifi is generally good which enables connectivity (if you wish!)
