The reviews say it all - looking for relaxation? We’ve got you covered here.
ALL NEW - even down to the plumbing and electric. Small, yet functional, boho-inspired home accenting the riverfront beauty throughout.
Kitchen features open concept with breakfast bar, open shelving, and butcher block countertops. The kitchen is 'minimalistic' as while you enjoy your stay with us, we'd love for you to visit our local establishments and support them as well (coupons provided for some). Appliances include beverage fridge (large enough to store eggs, milk, creamer, sandwich meat, etc) portable stovetop, ice maker, George Foreman, waffle maker, Keurig, microwave, InstantPot Hot/Cold Blender, rice maker and a toaster oven (**no oven, dishwasher, freezer or full-size fridge).
Bedrooms have a queen bed in each room with a smart TV.
Bathroom has a walk-in shower with a rainfalll shower head with a handheld sprayer and a heater vent.
There is a projector & screen provided for use with an attached fire stick for your streaming needs in the living area.
Windows across the entire front of the house provide wonderful views and natural light. If you're staying with us, you're most likely here for some type of nature involved trip. We want you to indulge in nature as much as possible! We’ve provided some card games and puzzles for your spare time together.

There is a propane grille on the deck available for use as well as a grate to go over the fire pit for cooking purpose - we love a good grilled meat over the open fire!

This unit is set-up for self check-in, but if you would prefer us to meet you there, please arrange it with us in advance.
If you've never been to Emlenton, you're truly in for a treat. This place screams "hometown" and you really get that vibe everywhere you go. The community is wonderful, the local establishments will take care of you, and the nature everywhere you turn is just icing on the cake. We love our little hometown and hope you're able to experience that while visiting.
We're located 5 minutes from I-80 exits 42 and 45. About 1.5 hours North of Downtown Pittsburgh and about 2 hours or less from Cleveland, Youngstown, Erie, and State College. Our town doesn't even have a stop light! No public transportation, including ride sharing. Our place sits at the end of a gravel dirt drive. It is riverfront, so space is limited. Vehicles with trailers cannot be accommodated typically, but please reach out if you'd like to bring one and we can do our best to try to figure out accommodations (may need to store off-site). In addition, the driveway is not guaranteed winter maintenance. We would highly recommend 4-wheel drive if traveling in the winter months as there’s a steep decline/ascent when entering/exiting the driveway. We are not responsible for any fees that may incur due to the need to be towed out or additional nights needed if not able to vacate the premise at normal check-out due to weather! Please plan accordingly.

Rental Rules:
RIVER RULES: Our home is close to the river so children must be accompanied outdoors at all times. We absolutely love the river, but don’t take for granted how powerful it can be. Be sure to look at rules and regulations for personal flotation devices and please abide by them.
PETS & SMOKING:
We have a strict no pet/animal policy as well as no smoking inside. If an animal is deemed to be on the premise, your party will be charged a $300 fee to cover additional cleaning required. If you smoke outside, please dispose of all butts. If found on premise after check-out, an additional fee will incur. Vaping is permitted but only outdoors. Signs of smoking indoors will also incur an additional fee. If the use of an ozone machine is required to rid the property of smoke (even if it comes inside with you via your clothes, etc.), guest will be subject to an additional $300 fee for cleaning.
OUTDOOR SPACE:
We will provide some wood to get started for our outdoor fire pit and we suggest bringing or buying additional wood, if needed (the IGA in town typically sells by the bundle). The outdoor lights are positioned in the trees for optimal lighting and safety, please do not attempt to move these lights. They are plugged in under the deck on the far side. Please unplug when not using. Chairs and stools are provided for your convenience, we ask that if you move them throughout your stay, that you simply return them to where you found them before you depart. If you’re looking at the property from the rental, to your left you’ll see a small ditch and “garage,” this marks the end of the property line. To the right, as far as the grass goes is the property line. Please do not go beyond these as we do have neighbors and wish to respect their privacy as well. The home is equipped with exterior security cameras around the premise, if any exterior cameras are tampered with in any way, guests may incur a $500 fine.
TRASH: There is a brown trash bin located outside - Please place all BAGGED trash in these bins upon departure. No unbagged trash, please.
GRILLE:
We provide a propane grill on our deck for your use. Please pull away from the railing before igniting. Clean the grille after every use and leave it how you found it. Propane should be turned off after every use! Please recover when finished using.
KAYAK RENTAL:
We do have 2 personal kayaks that we are willing to rent to you separately from the house cost, and coordinate pick up/drop off times with you if available. Please reach out to set up at least 72 hours prior to your stay if you’re interested. Will include kayak and paddle. You must provide your own personal flotation device and be able to show us proof that you have it.
PARKING:
We can accommodate 2 cars for parking, however it should be noted that you are staying along the river, and space is very limited. You will need to turn your car around in tight spaces and back out long stretches of driveway. When pulling out of our driveway onto the main road, you are pulling out into a passing zone. PLEASE BE CAREFUL and look both ways.
INITIAL WALK-THRU
Please take a few minutes when you arrive to do an initial walk-thru of the cottage. We have an amazing housekeeper that does a wonderful job. However, rarely something might get missed. Please notify us within 2 hours of any housekeeping issues or anything that is not acceptable so that we can correct the problem immediately. Please note that by staying you are agreeing to the unit in its current condition, no refunds will be issued after check-out.
PROJECTOR AND SCREEN:
We have installed a pull down screen for easy use. Please be careful when pulling down and retracting it back up. The projector has been set for optimal viewing - please do not touch or adjust any setting on the projector. There is a remote to control the projector and a remote for a FireStick to give you access to Netflix, Hulu, etc. You will need to login under your own login for these services.
RECORD PLAYER:
We have provided a record player w/ our favorite artists record - maybe you'll become a fan favorite also! There are 2 records available - if you're not using them we just ask that you place them back in the protective cover that they came out of.
TOWELS/LINENS: We provide very nice towels and linens and, in addition, provide black makeup towels for makeup removal or anything else that may stain our white towels/linens. Please use these black makeup towels or you may be subject to fees if the towels and/or linens become damaged from stains. We've also provided beach towels for your use, please use the cheap beach towels if you need to clean something up that may stain.
AGE RESTRICTIONS:
Must be at least 25 years of age to book a reservation.
CHECK-OUT: Our check out is promptly at 11am. If you extend your stay without permission you will be charged $50/hr post check-out time. Our cleaners come promptly after 11am and if they have to leave because the space is still occupied, we are charged an additional cleaning fee for them to come back. We ask that you wash/clean all dishes and/or kitchen appliances that have been used during your stay. All used towels can be placed in a pile in the shower. Linens can be left on the bed. Most importantly, this is our home, and we hope you treat it as your own, so please leave the space how you found it for our next guests!
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned vacation home, featuring a kitchen with a refrigerator and a microwave. There's a private balcony.
Guests will find features like onsite parking.

Quick flip that is only nice becuase it is new and on the wayer
I planned for solitude. I checked ahead of time that there were no cameras on the property as I am recently widowed mom of 3 young kids and was hoping to process my grief without an audience for once. The property boasted quiet. When I arrived, I missed the driveway. They dont warn you that it is a sharp drop to the property and a scary pull out into on comming traffic. The place is clean and new, but if you know anything of construction even in passing, you will be constantly annoyed with the shortcuts they so clearly took. Nothing dangerous just unfinished shotty work with almost no caulk anywhere and black grout in the shower so that you are not sure if it is grout or mildew. Smells like mildew. When I woke up the next morning I noticed 4 undisclosed cameras and a construction crew using the power outlet on the front porch. The host wished me happy naps and reading and there was hammering and power tools being used on their adjacent property that again was less than an extention cord away fron the front door I was renting! They were also blocking the driveway. So I planned on being a crying ugly troll all week and instead, i felt i had to be presentable for the multiple stangers that could easily watch me from the deck as well as the cameras that felt most intrusive when I was crying the hardest. No reading, naps or yoga were had. On check out day the hosts stared at me from the other property as i soaked up the sun until my departure time. Yes

Father's Day Overnight Ride
My son and i were looking for a midpoint in a curvy Pensylvania route. Parker,PA was interesting. Its a little paddle stop on the Allegheny River. The little house is just sown river of town. Maker sure to ask about kayaks and bikes ahead of time, or bring your own i guess. Sweet little cottage. Private enough for good conversation.

Right in the middle of nowhere but at the center of it all
We had a great 1 night stay here that we picked for its central location midway to the Grove City Premier Outlets and the UPMC Northwest hospital. Newly created turnaround at the end of the driveway eliminates backing down the old driveway. No sulpher smell in the water. Easy access to the river for swimming. Bring an innertube or inflatable raft. Water was warm for June. Had a bald eagle fly in and perch on a tree branch just 20 feet from our deck. Meghan granted us an early arrival, and then helped us retreive a makeup case that was left behind after we checked out. Highly recommend this property and it is one of the rare one night minimum rentals available.

Wish we had booked a longer stay.
We were very pleased with our one night stay, and wish we had been able to stay longer. Meghan promptly responded to each of our emails, which we appreciated. The property and amenities are accurately described. Extra bonus points for finding a John Prine LP on the record player -- great taste! We are birders, and were very pleased to hear and see the number and variety of birds in and around the property. Two things I would emphasize for future guests. Our GPS insisted on taking us to a turn off about a hundred yards from the true turn off to the driveway, so be wary of what your GPS tells you. Second, pay close attention to what the hosts have to say about the driveway itself, and contact them with any questions. Thanks again, Meghan, we will definitely be in touch next time we are in the area.

Great weekend spot
My boyfriend and I stayed at this house for the weekend and it was a great get-away spot! The house was newly updated and clean, and had everything we needed. The fire pit and the deck overlooking the river were amazing and a great place to have coffee in the morning. Very private but close to amenities around the area. The host was very responsive and quick to answer any questions. Easy to check in and out too. We loved it and are planning to go back already!

A lovely spot on the beautful Allegheny River!
This well kept property sits on the beautiful Allegheny River. The cottage was clean and updated. The host demonstrated kindness and flexibility in meeting our needs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and even the smallmouth bass cooperated nicely! The float trips on the Allegheny from Kennerdale to Parker were fantastic--as was the hiking in the nearby Clear Creek State Forest! A wonderful week in a beautiful setting!

Great riverside getaway
Loved our weekend escape by the Allegheny River run this perfectly styled cabin! My favorite thing was waking up in the morning and looking out the window at our first snowfall of the season and the rushing river. While there is not a full kitchen, it has plenty of tools and appliances to be able to cook simple meals and then settle in for a movie night on the projector. Minutes from the Allegheny River trail where we went to ride bikes with our kids and Freedom Falls for a short hike by the waterfall, this spot is a gem. Would love to come back on a warmer weekend and take advantage of water activities.

The owners have done an amazing job updating this little property. It has everything you need for a perfect stay. Easier to find during the day as our gps (Google Maps) unfortunately took us to a nearby street and very difficult to turn around in driveway but other than that, we enjoyed our stay and the cottage.

The little cabin is so well set up. The owners have thought of so many little things. The deck, the fire pit, the view all great. Quick drive to couple of restaurants and small grocery store. Just can’t say enough. We have stayed at many VRBO’s this is one of our favorite.
