The staff we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and often pro-active. The hotel itself was about as ideally located as we could get to the Scottish Event Centre (SEC), where we walked everyday, acknowledging that another hotel was actually attached to the SEC, but they did not have the mobility accessible room that we required. As alluded to, we requested a mobility accessible room, and The Courtyard SEC delivered positively in nearly every aspect. Access to the room was easy, moving within the room was easy, using the bathroom was easy (with the very important grab bars and roll-in shower), plus having emergency cords placed in several important spots in the room. An interesting note, while we were able to move around the room with no problem, we used a walker, NOT a wheelchair. The location of the bed relative to the wall it faced, created a close point between one corner of the bed and the wall, one that a wheelchair would NOT have fit through. Other minor mobility critiques also extend to the doors of the elevator lobbies, as they were heavy and awkward, and access to the dining area, when busy, was also sometimes tough. However, while in the dining area, the staff ALWAYS found us someplace to put the walker so it was out of the way. Our time at the Courtyard SEC, minor quibbles aside, was a joy, and we would recommend it to anyone spending time in the area.
