Unfortunately the pod I stayed in did not appear to be terribly clean as there had been quite a few large stickers that had been peeled off the walls but not cleaned off properly.
There was a good supply of linen. Lockers were too small so main backs were kept in the common room so suggest bring padlocks for bags.
Unfortunately the common area appeared dusty and dirty and overall felt unwelcoming. The hotel restaurant staff were running the capsule hotel so general reception area was an after thought. So the experience was functional overall but not hospitable.
This was my first time trying a capsule hotel and it increased my expectations for all capsule hotels. Everything about this hotel was nice and very convenient.
The beds were terrible. The pillows were not much better. Every time you moved in the bed the entire capsule creaked. The mattress was paper thin but everything else was great
Just a minute walk from JR Otsu station, the Calendar Hotel has everything one needs from tasty drinking water, to easy to use changing room to shower room and finally a quiet, comfy place to sleep. The amenities are generous, too.
Right outside the JR station and 2 7-11. It is 10mins ride to Kyoto. Very clean, very nice staff who speak English. Can get a free drink ticket if request no need to change sheets and clean up. Shower is hot and strong for washing long hair. Only down side is, it is not luggage friendly. There are long stairs and no elevator. But they have a cafe/bar so there are always staff available.
It was good. Basically after check in, no one bothers you or anything. It's self serve for towels (first is free) and toiletries. The washing machine is ¥300 and the dryer is ¥100/30 min. The sleeping area is comfortable and basic. The whole place is new and stylish.
This is the perfect accommodation in Kyoto. It's located right on a subway station that is only two stops away from Kyoto Station. Capsules and facilities in general are very comfortable, clean, and beautiful. Staff members are super friendly and the breakfast was great and included. Don't look more.
Staff was super nice and the facility is very clean and well managed. The hotel is on the second floor which is only accessible by stairs (you could ask the staff if you need help with luggage). You pass by their trendy restaurant/bar going in and it's a lively place at night. I got a package that includes breakfast and the food was great. Please be warned though the locker is not very big... just enough to put your handbag and hang a thin jacket. If you have a suitcase like I did, you will have to lock it up in the common area (for hotel). I had to organize my belongings in the common area because of that... but it was quiet there most of the time so I didn't feel like I was in people's way. Theyprovide a bath towel, face towel, PJ, toothbrush/toothpaste with no extra charge.
This is a great place to stay if you run out of options n the city centre. The room was clean and amenities were modern. I prefer to be closer to where everything us but if you only need a place to crash that isn't too far from Kyoto JR station (by train) then I'd definitely come back here. It's reasonably priced.
