My husband and I love the Upper Peninsula, even had our honeymoon up north 35 years ago!! This 160+ year old farm house was perfect for a quick five night getaway. Dean is an excellent communicator and very accommodating. The beddings and textiles are luxurious, and the wood floors and quaint kitchen gave an air of cabin living
But don't let the cabin reference fool you! Beautiful chandeliers light up the dining room where built in china cabinets held gorgeous time period dishes and serving pieces. The antique silver sets, including candle sticks adorn the sideboard. Heirlooms abound, but we were assured to make ourselves at home.
We arrived later than expected and we're extremely pleased with the ease we were able to gain entrance. On the table was a lovely gift basket with local treats just for us. We were welcomed with sincerity!!
Details like soaps, toilet paper, and other niceties put us at ease, since we came after the local grocery store closed!! Thank you Dean, we have stayed at several places that didn't provide garbage bags or TP. 😊
I would recommend this home to anyone! My husband has some residual deficits due to a stroke - there is a bathroom and master bedroom on the main floor that were accessible.
We are hoping to return this summer with family and grandkids. It is so close to beaches, Calumet, Lake of the Clouds, Bond and Agate falls, as well as Green Park for rock hounding. I must mention the fields of lupine starting to bloom, forget-me-nots, and even trilliums on the public trails!
Bless you for a one in a lifetime vacation!
