I drove by the hotel area before my check in date, it was a total surprise, the area was scary, dirty, homeless all over in the street and in front of the hotel. Burned down cars, garbage and debris scattered all around. Nothing like what the pictures shown on the internet. No security, not enough lighting. Inside the check in cage is a one man operation. Dark, broken elevator and dogs barking. It’s was a bad scene. I went back out immediately and decided I am not going to check in, and did not cancel my reservation because I was told there was no refunds. I also paid a $9.00 fee to insure my booking. This is really a bad experience. I had to book another hotel on this trip. I am sure you guys see my booking. I wish there’s a way I can claim my refunds on this bad experience. I also have pictures available to backup my statements. Thank you for allowing me to voice my opinion.

Very good place to stay for the price. The hotel is good. I was worried after reading the reviews regarding homeless people camping in front of the hotel. The homeless people were in front of the hotel but the hotel was safe due to the availability of a gate guard and fence. The hotel staffs were nice and had good breakfast.

For starters, the front desk staff was amazing! They were super friendly and helpful. However, the area immediately surrounding this hotel is one of the most unsafe areas I've ever been in. Due to Oakland's homelessness epidemic, you always had to be hyper vigilant to be mindful of your surroundings, constantly watch your back, and be on constant alert. The hotel's elevator was "out of order" and the hotel's own airport shuttle service was "out of service for the foreseeable future". The hotel was dirty, dingy, and had an odorous smell to it that was offputting.

Not good for family trip
Inside : Smell and thin wall makes noise than wakes me up lot of times from baby’s crying from right next room. Seems like someone is living in the hotel as residents. Breakfast room was tiny and not following order especially in waffle machine. Outside : Homeless people and their place like shelter. Very dangerous and far from 10 min driving from grocery store.

the room had a very small window and the bed was dirty. Room Service was not done and it was never communicated that for theat we had to call the front desk a day in advanced. Breakfast had limited option and all the options were poor quality. All in All a terrible stay and wouldn't ever come or recommend this to anyone.

One-night stay to catch international flight the next day. Terrible location. They no longer offered shuttle service to the airport as described on the amenities. No food options near hotel. Hotel rundown. Rooms were fairly clean.
