I stayed for 2 nights whilst working in Nottingham. Everything was fine and I would probably use this hotel again but next time would definitely request a room in the other half of the hotel. my room was above the kitchen entrance and I was disturbed by bottles/glass being discarded into skips (very noisy) and by the refuse collector vehicle (both days I was there.) not very relaxing whilst in the room.
Great hotel & facilities. Breakfast excellent.
Had dinner - unfortunatly they had trouble with staffing & had a very delayrd meal. Communicating with us more would have helped .
We stayed at the hotel for two nights and had 2 rooms for one night.
Unfortunately there wasn’t a superior room available for two nights which meant we were asked to check out and leave our bags at reception and then take them to new room later. The electric vehicle chargers didn’t work which was inconvenient as this was one reason to use the hotel.
We had dinner at the restaurant on the Friday evening and we had Declan as our waiter who was exceptional, working under very difficult circumstances. None of the other staff shows any initiative. He was literally run off his feet which meant we waited about 40 minutes until we had finished our starters before we got our drinks.
The food was lovely but service was slow and restaurant understaffed.
At the end of the meal we paid and left. We were then chased down to the lifts by another waitress who asked to pay. We explained we had paid and returned to the restaurant. I showed the man at the counter my receipt and he waved me away with his hand saying “don’t worry”, no apologies or explanations, I had to point out the staff member I had paid. It was appalling to be accused of not paying and being chased and then not apologised to. Especially after poor service throughout the meal except for one staff member. .
Breakfast didn’t have any clean tables so we had to clear a table to be able to sit down to a mess, whereas most places I would expect a table to be ready before letting us in. Not what we expected from a quality hotel
We work so hard just to stand still nowadays and a weekend away is a real treat, especially when you are given a wonderful, comfortable, spotlessly clean room, fantastic, warm service and excellent food. We have had a fantastic stay at The Orchard - thank you all so much, can't wait to return.
