Hotel staff was very friendly, hotel was tidy and clean, very comfortable, and had a bit of a rustic feel to it, without being old and grimy. The bunks are very large, I'm 6'1", and there was no length issues in the dorm, lots of very comfortable blankets, and a reasonably large common and dining area. The hotel is a little bit tricky to find, though they also own the hotel closer to the train station, and a shuttle sometimes runs from there. The location is very quiet and peaceful, and I would definitely stay here again if I were ever back in Nikko. The only downside to me is the washrooms weren't great, but they weren't bad, either.
