Old world beach bach by the seaside
A beautiful family beach holiday crib right by the seashore. Lawns for cricket in the evenings; mud flats to explore at low tide; a wee beach or two to wander along; log fire for chilly autumn mornings and those long holiday evenings sitting round playing board games and cards together. We couldn’t have dreamed of anything better than what we had the privilege of enjoying here thank you to the hosts who share their slice of paradise

Amazing, affordable back for a family!
Had a great relaxing stay the week before Easter with some lovely mild weather in the Bay. Bach was perfect for our family of 5 and was great being able to bring our fur baby too. Had everything we needed with a great layout. Beautiful view with morning coffee in bed! Lovely swimming a short walk down to the foreshore and great fishing for the kids off the jetty too - my daughter caught a good sized gurnard! Loved the pukeko family right outside. Overall a wonderful, peaceful stay - will be back soon!

3 night stay
the property is in a lovely spot with a beautiful view and access to the water - this was its main appeal 😁 The property is fairly close to Picton so access to shopping is fine It is obviously a much loved family Bach, owned by the same family for many years. I wasn't expecting 5 star accomodation - but everything is very tired looking and could do with a spruce up.😢 Main problem for us was level of cleanliness. Guests are asked to clean when they leave, but people have different standards and for me it needed a good spring clean. It would be better to charge more and have a proper cleaner 😊

Classic kiwi bach
It had great views and it was a well set up classic kiwi bach. The annex however was not suitable for either of our young children to sleep in which was a surprise when we arrived. The annex was further away from the house than expected and very dusty and dirty. The previous occupants had also not cleaned after their stay which meant we had to clean the kitchen and floors on arrival. Overall it was a nice stay in a great location.

Perfect bach in stunning Marlborough Sounds
Absolutely loved our week long stay, classic kiwi bach in absolutely stunning location. The views alone offer so much tranquil; easy access to walking tracks and beach. We traveled with dog, it’s very pet friendly accommodation, large garden with trees for shade on a hot day, though not fully fenced. But still perfect place for those travelling with dog. Short drive to Picton, Blenheim, or Havelock North. Highly recommend.

We areived late around 7pm and left by 6am the next day for the ferry. It was perfect for what we needed and very quiet and relaxing.A pity we couldn't stay and get a real chance at taking advantage of the propertys location which was stunning.

Peaceful time away
We stayed in this beautiful place for 4 nights. Everything was as listed. Great getaway for some time out. Definitely recommend. Only thing to improve is description for the key box. We arrived at night and had a hard time finding that box as we did not consider the side of the porch ad a 'wall'. Eventually we found a Keybox in the back but turned out it was the wrong one, as the code didn't work. Not long after we found the correct one. Minor inconvenience overall, which would easily be fixable by providing more concise description. Bit of adventure for us and the kids. Apart from that experience was all positive. Great place for some time out

Lovely little spot if you're travelling with pets
Very much as described. Traditional kiwi bach in a beautiful location. The check in procedure was disappointing. There was no information on how to turn the power on (only an instruction to turn if off when you leave). FYI, it is high on the wall to the right of the doorway in the toilet. On a cold, wet autumn day with no one picking up on the contact number, waiting over two hours to be able to put the kettle on almost prompted me to abandon the stay. I'm glad I didn't as it is a lovely wee place but seriously it was a close call. The driveway is a challenge, if like me you aren't that flash at reversing. But, for my two dogs and I it was a great base for the weekend's dog shows in Blenheim and so handy for the Picton ferry back to the North Island. I would definitely stay again (if they'll let me)

Stunning location, classic bach
This was a lovely spot to stay, especially coming off the ferry after a late crossing. We hope to return for longer! Lovely sense of family history in the shade. The only issue we had was the mains power was unexpectedly off when we arrived so had to hunt out the switch. It wasn't really a problem, but just a surprise. Thanks!

What a Beautiful Location
Initially on walking in, we thought what a mess bread crumbs/food everywhere on the side, floor and table, empty beer bottle lids left on the floor and sofa. The fridge and freezer were left in a mess and the freezer door was shut and smelly. Once cleaned up, we enjoyed our stay. Fabulous location. We wouldn’t use the outside shower unit as the floor has gone a bit and seemed dangerous. The Bach was basic but we loved it. We would definitely come back. The view was one of the best we’ve had on our holidays around NZ. Enjoyed walking, cycling, fishing, swimming and watching the stingray swimming around by the quay.
