The River Cabin is a log cabin located on the Muskegon River in Newaygo, MI. It was built 80 feet above the river in the 1920s and has since been updated to make it a serene home.
The owners have preserved the original cabin as the large, gathering room and porch that serves as a hangout with an additional sleeping area. Open layout to the kitchen and dining area. Spacious, skylight windows, and 360 degree views of nature
The Primary bedroom overlooks the river with its own bathroom and stone shower. It has a king bed, heated floor, and ceiling fan. The second bedroom has a queen bed, heated floor, and across the hall from the bathroom/laundry room. The main bathroom has a heated floor, stone shower, and laundry with washer/dryer.
Green space all around the cabin with a hammock, picnic table, lawn furniture, and fire pit. The River Cabin is above the river 80 feet on a steep hill and not recommended for unsupervised children. Prepare to walk up and down several stairs to the riverbank.
The Muskegon River is considered one of the best tailwater fisheries east of the Mississippi and it rarely freezes. Fish from the riverbank all year round. During the summer months the river is enjoyed by recreational tubing, paddlers, and boating.
