Hotel probably close to needing a remod soon or perhaps just a referesh. Not worn down and maybe just my room but couch in room had mismatched cushions. Shower mixing valve was broken so water was barely warm. Paint was a bit banged up. Comfortable bed and pillows, though. Staff was very friendly. Free breakfast was lacking, but what do you expect for free? Only stayed one night. Close to downtown Montclair. Plenty food options around.

I wouldn't if I were you...

Staff were somewhat friendly but the hotel is old, it's filthy, extremely noisy and derelict. The only positive thing I could say about it is there's ample parking, but that's probably because people saw the place and decided against staying there. The couch in my room had stains all over it, the bathtub wouldn't drain during my shower so I was standing in calf-deep water, the refrigerator squeaked so loud I had to unplug it.

Very disappointed in general. I asked for a specific room when I reserved the room and they gave me a double full bed vs the king bed with pull out sofa that I asked for. The room was freezing and when I called at 10:30pm and asked the front desk for a blanket, they told me to turn on the heat (which I did) and someone would bring a blanket. I waited up till 11pm and finally fell asleep. At 4am someone knocked on my door and I ignored it. One should not have to wait 5 1/2 hours for a blanket. The breakfast was also extremely disappointing the following morning. All in all I am extremely disappointed with the hotel and will not stay there in the future.

I only stayed one night. I chose the hotel because it was close to the local hospital where I had a family member having care. I was disappointed that there was no restaurant on site. I guess I didn’t read the description well enough. However, the front desk person sent me to a very delicious restaurant and bar nearby. If I need to be in the area again, I would certainly choose this hotel.
