3.5 stars. Beds were good. Staff was nice. Restaurant was amazing for wait staff, food quality and ambience. The TV remote was problematic which impacted our relaxation. When we called for new batteries for the remote, staff came up and told us that wasn't the issue and we need to point it at the sensor. Not helpful nor a solution. Remote control not working like a standard remote control negatively impacted the quality of our relaxing time in the hotel after a long day of walking.

Beautiful boutique hotel in an amazing prewar architecture neighborhood with terrific restaurants nearby and a sumptuous brasserie filled with locals at all hours (Nice Matin). The service is great, the bathrooms are small but I love having a bath, and nicely fitted. Even though I commuted by cab for three days into downtown it was much more affordable than the ridiculous rates being charged in midtown and downtown by more mediocre hotels.

Wonderful Manhattan location. Lots of shops , eateries and bars. Handy for Central Park and Natural History Museum. Good sized room, helpful staff, spotlessly clean. Not quite a four-star but well above three-star. Nice Matin is a lovely French dining experience.

The adjacent French restaurant Nice Matin was an excellent place for both breakfast and dinner. The famous gourmet grocery and kitchenwares shop Zabar’s is only 2 blocks away.
