I needed a hotel after being stranded in NYC when my flight was canceled. This hotel seemed reasonably priced for NY standards ($187), was rated highly, and was close enough to LGA. However, on arrival, I was deeply disappointed. As soon as I checked in, I was told I need to pay an additional $15 for a local tax; afterwards, they said they needed to charge a $100 refundable fee for incidentals. These two things were a surprise after I had paid fully for the room. When I got to my room, I was further disappointed. The room's state of cleanliness was way below the standards I would expect from a hotel that had 8.8 Expedia rating. The floors needed a good mopping; they were full of stains; the windowsills also needed a good wiping down. The corridor carpet was in dire need of vacuuming. Sheets, towels, bathroom, and sink were all clean, that's why I give them 2 stars. At 8am in the morning, there was no warm coffee at the reception area. I do not recommend this hotel and would not stay there again.
