Safe and comfortable nice staff!
Great location! Very nice hard working staff. Room is tiny. Hall ways are shabby but rooms are nice. Bed was especially comfortable. Free breakfast is perfectly fine. This is a very adequate place to sleep and stay when enjoying new York. We will definitely stay there again. It’s overpriced - but not for New York City!

Great little hotel, heat in our room on the fritz
The rooms were very small but it's in New York City hotel, very clean and great staff at the desk and also very responsive through text messages. The complimentary breakfasthat goes till 10 AM was great and coffee list okay actually. Only complaint was we didn't have heat for the first 3 nights we weretheart but we had an extra blanket and may do and then the heat kicked in on the last night we were there.

Nice Place but there are better
Excellent location in an area with easy access to Central Park and local transportation. Rooms were good for an old hotel but very small as is the custom in NYC. Single elevator access was often tied up by cleaning crews causing up to fifteen minute delays unless walk up 14 floors is in your exercise regimen.

Location great, but that's where it ends
The rooms were old, run down and the windows did not close properly. The bed was comfortable, but the showers were run down, and the wifi did not work at all on the 14th floor. Service staff were good, nothing outstanding. Breakfast room was very small and often difficult to find a table. Also the elevator waiting times were long.

This hotel was a real let-down. The whole place was worn and beaten - skirting boards, carpets, mattresses, shower trays, and sealant were all in poor condition, many with stains. The room didn’t help either; the paint and woodwork were faded and scuffed, and the windows were filthy with signs of mold and a draft from poor sealing. The air was damp, and the air conditioning would make a sudden loud noise waking me up multiple times during the night. The elevator was completely inadequate for the size of the building, taking ages to arrive and always being full - mostly with cleaners and there equipment, making it hard for guests to use. Breakfast was overcrowded and low quality, which made it feel like an afterthought. Privacy was another issue. Staff ignored our “Do Not Disturb” sign and tried to enter the room two hours before check-out without even knocking. To make things worse, the luggage hold was just a random corner in the lobby, which didn’t feel safe for leaving belongings. The final kicker is the hidden facility fee, which was buried in the listing and felt deceptive, a way to make the listing look cheaper on booking sites. When contacting support though Expedia they take ages to reply and didn't answer any of my questions and are now just ignoring me. The only real positive was the huge bed, but honestly, it’s not worth it. I wouldn’t recommend staying here and would avoid at all costs.

I had an issue with noise all night in my room 402. The noise would last for 10 seconds and come on every 30 seconds and sounded like a pipe pulling in water. I did not sleep the whole night. The shower also only had lukewarm water.

Literally the worst room ive ever stayed in. Mold, hole in the wall. I checked out 2 hrs later. Front desk was friendly and understanding and property ended up refunding everything. But this place needs a remodel.

I stayed at this property in 2016 before La Quinta was bought out by Wyndham. At that time it was clean and reasonably priced. I was disappointed with my recent stay- it had nothing to do with the staff. The overall quality of the facility in relation to the amount I paid to stay there for one night was so disappointing. I’m not looking for a luxury stay, but I can tell the quality had suffered- towels a bit shoddy, bathroom needed repairs (deferred maintenance), etc. I would love to stay there again- but not at that price point for that level of quality. So disappointed because I really liked this hotel….
