Upon check-in, the employee told us that the water in the fridge was not free, but for sale. But, we noticed everyone else was taking the water bottles freely. Next day, another employee even let us take them freely too. How strange that the first employee told us that it had to be paid for.
The towels initially set in our room were dirty. When we asked for more towels, the new ones were dirty too with a brown stain on it... I had to go downstairs twice about towels since the phone in our room would have trouble working (no dial tone, silence). And when it did work, no one picked up (twice).
Our room had 2 beds. Both top covers had red stains on them, which looked really weird.
Also, the walls are so thin! We could hear every sound from people slamming their doors, talking, yelling, laughing, etc. It sounded like there were other people in our room. It made it hard to sleep at night.
When we visit NYC again, we will not stay here especially for the price we paid. Our experience was not great and uncomfortable considering what happened on our first day (water bottle and towels).
