Too many passwords! I got locked out of my room in the middle of the night to use the shared bathroom, and was lucky to remember my door code; otherwise I　would have slept in my underwear on the sofa the first floor in front of the check-in desk, since there is no one staffed at the check-in desk at night!

I have stayed in this Inn for years prior to COVID, so I was comfortable to choose it again. I was, however, not pleased with my stay. Our room had a bunk bed where the top sheets were not clean. Our room was located right by the entrance where there was only a buzzer to get into the building. When people got frustrated, they would bang on our room's window for help. This went on all night. There is no staff on site, so there was a great deal of noise and chaos all night. I had my two teenagers with me who were scared from the window banging and partying all night long. I used to love staying here. It was quaint, quiet, and clean. My opinion has completely changed.

Check in is contacless, make sure you have your code the email you, or you will not be able to enter the building for check in. It was close to what we needed and the room was perfet for us. Bathroom and floor had hair and dust bunnies from the previous tenant's

Chelsea Inn has a unique check-in process that may seem weird at first (I was a little unsettled), but when everything is said and done, it worked okay. The hotel sends you an online form to fill out and when that is done, it will send you the codes you need to get into the building and into your room. The form has a few typos, but it is legitimate. If you want a stay where you can come and go as you please without interacting with anyone, this is great. The best part of the Chelsea Inn is the location. It is within one block of several different subway lines, so getting around was a breeze. The only real issue I had is one that seems common in older New York City hotels- noise. The walls are pretty good with soundproofing, but other guests are incredibly audible through the door, so light-sleepers beware. Overall, great stay. I would do it again.

The hotel is centrally located in a safe neighborhood within walking distance of multiple food carts and places to eat. Also close to the subway. Friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely stay again!

Ratings are really what you get (not bad but not excellent). The hotel is well located in midtown (near chelsea) and is okay overall for a short stay. Good: LOCATION, contactless check in, AC in room, loved that there was a Keypad to access hotel and room. Bad: Cleanliness (the floors were a bit dirty and there was dust in the AC and on some surfaces), shower water pressure is horrible, there wasn’t amenities (the water dispenser on the floor doesn’t work for example so we had to buy bottles), the walls are made of cardboard The bed was comfortable enough for us, as opposed to other ratings and the room was not that small for NYC! As a canadian, I would recommend for 1/2 nights if you’re on a budget because it’s worth the location, especially if you dont plan on staying in your room except for sleeping/showering!

Glad that we have no mobility issues nor large luggage as we booked this without knowing that the hotel is a multi story walk-up with narrow staircases. Friendly staff and easily walkable to subway stations
