The room was comfortable but a little worn. In particular, the bathroom door was starting to split at the bottom. Otherwise, the front desk staff were very friendly, and the included breakfast buffet was okay.

The hotel was clean, and the staff was great, but we had four complaints: 1. From 10:30 PM to 12:00, people were taking showers on the 2nd floor. The whistling from the plumbing was so loud. I have a recording if you'd like me to send it to you. That night and the next morning, we couldn't sleep because of the whistling. 2. There were two blood drop stains on our top sheet. I guess someone didn't check that before installing in on our bed. 3. The king size bed is dated and needs to be replaced. We tried to sleep, but the bed was shaped like a bowl, so we rolled into the middle. 4. While reserving our stay, your website asked if there was anything the hotel could do. We asked for standard pillows. Those "throw pillows" that are placed on the beds are NOT good for sleeping if you are a side sleeper or one who moves at night. We both had neck pain that lasted all day because of the pillows. I wish we had a better stay at your hotel. We stay there when we visit my sister and her family there in San Marcos. Please feel free to contact me if you'd like to hear a recording of the plumbing whistle. 325-277-2560. Text me and I will send it.

We left a different hotel because of the condition of the room and they couldn’t get us into another room. So we came to Wingate instead, everything was great the staff helped us with everything and we got to check in early without paying an extra fee like the other place charged us. The first room keys we got didn’t work so the front desk staff moved us to another room and did an excellent job of helping us. Definitely will stay here again next time we’re in San Marcos.

The mini fridge in the room didn’t work and looked like it had mold inside. The room smelled a bit moldy and it felt damp inside. Some of the lamps were even missing light bulbs.

The hotel was fine, but the floor was buckling under the carpet on the second floor (both in my room and in the hallway). I doubt it was structural, but it didn't exactly fill me with confidence. The bed was serviceable and clean - not super comfortable.

Nice hotel
The hotel was nice and clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Disappointed with the gym as not all the equipment shown worked i.e., the stepper was not plugged thin and now sign of a cable to allow this to happen. This was reported early into our stay but was not addressed.
