Hotel Review:
I stayed at this hotel for one night and was quite disappointed, especially given its 9/10 rating. The hotel looks old and run-down, though the staff were friendly and helpful. My room had several issues: the sheets and pillows were dirty, it smelled of fresh paint, and the bathroom had a strong humidity odor. I had to ask for air freshener three times before anything was done. The air conditioning was either freezing or noisy, and I had to pay 1500 LKR for Wi-Fi in the room since the free lobby Wi-Fi wasn’t working.
I didn’t have a hairdryer so I asked the staff for one and they gave me one with the europe plug.
The gym was outdated, and the hotel is located next to a bar, making it very noisy at night. Breakfast was average at best, with poor coffee and juice. Only one towel was provided per person, and I had to request a bath mat. There were some positives, like the large bed, two free bottles of water, a fridge, and a kettle, but the pool area lacked enough sunbeds.
I initially chose this hotel based on its high reviews, but I can’t understand how it was rated so well. While I realize standards vary by country, this stay fell well below expectations. I won’t be staying here again.
