It is an older building without elevator. It has a small onsen that only 4 people are allowed to use at the same time. Different onsen for male and female I have no problem using the onsen. The room has toilet and wash basin but no shower. Light breakfast is included. The Ryokan is located right in town. Just a short walk to the Yubatake. The staff are friendly and helpful. Overall, it is a decent place to stay overnight.
Had a Wonderful 2 nights stay.
Glad that I had chosen this hotel. It’s so convenient. Within walking distance from the Bus Station and Yubatake.
The staffs are friendly and helpful.
The simple Breakfast provided is good.
The staff requested us to only speak Japanese when we requested for slippers and also when we requested additional pillow, they claimed they don't have any extra pillows. Apart from that location is excellent, hotel provided a list of restaurants they recommend as well!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
the onsen is really small, it can only fit 4 people in it
This is a very poor hotel, old, noisy, the staff don't understand English at all, what's worse they don't like to entertain foreign tourists, only locals are welcome, I won't stay in this hotel anymore
No private showers, all guests have to use public showers and not tattoo friendly joint, and no lifts so have to hand carry heavy suitcase. Not recommended
The hotel is well situated at a short stroll from the main attraction in the middle of Kusatsu town. The staff is helpful and attentive. The Onsen is open 24 hours and quite pleasant. The complimentary breakfast is good enough to get the day started. There's a cute fireplace in the main lobby area that heats up the place nicely.
Located very near to Yubatake and nearby restaurants. One of the senior staff could be more cheerful when welcoming guests. Breakfast was very food especially when it is complimentary.
I love this place! It's not only comfortable, you get free access to coffee & tea all day + delicious breakfast in the morning. A short walk from the bus station and easy access to all the onsens you want in the little onsen town.
Really enjoyed my time in Kusatsu. The ryokan was comfortable, authentic and clean. Staff was helpful. The bath area in the basement was quite small, but made with care and taste. When bathing, I was the only one there, so the small size wasn't a problem.
We were well-received by the Ryokan's staff, who made us feel warmly welcomed. Light beverages were provided during our wait prior to checking in and was provided 24/7 throughout our entire stay. The room was extremely spacious, which worked well for large families (4 pax). One minor problem was the use of the device that was used to draw outside air into the room, which wasn't an air-conditioning unit. Even after using the device, the room still felt rather warm and we had to leave the windows opened for some time so as to cool the room. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay over at Kusatsu Onsen Ryokan Yoshinoya.
Great location, perfect for a 1 or 2 night stay. The lounge area was lovely to sit and relax by the fire with the free WiFi. Everything is in walking distance. I would stay again and recommend.
