River Run Chalets - Nottely Riverfront, Starlink w/ Roku TV, Easy River Access

Fish and relax just feet from the Nottely River! One of a kind riverfront property located on the beautiful Nottely River. River Run Chalets consist of two 1,200 sq ft chalets, the Tranquil Chalet and the Trout Chalet. They have identical floor plans. The River Run Chalets are located on a 1 acre fenced-in lot on a 25-acre meadow with 9 acres of river front property to hike and explore. We have upgraded the internet to Starlink. No more unbelievably slow HughesNet or DISH internet! We also upgraded the Wi-Fi and added two brand new Roku TVs. The property is located at the end of a mile long dirt road - true end of the road privacy!

The River Run Chalets are great for families, multiple families, or small family reunions. Got a moody teenager with friends who want their privacy? Or do they want to play their music too loud? Or want to watch something different on TV? No problem! The Trout Chalet is the perfect kid’s getaway while the adults enjoy the peace and relaxation of the Tranquil Chalet. They are happy and you are happy! Perfect!

We chose this property because it is very unique and incredibly relaxing. The covered wrap-around metal roofed porches are just feet from the Nottely River. You can fish, hike, go antiquing, sit by the fire and listen to the river, BBQ on the outdoor grill, watch the cows graze across the river, or just sit on the porch and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Nottely River.

The chalets are located just 15 minutes from Murphy NC and Blairsville GA. Antique shops and flea markets are just minutes away.

Our family spent years camping. We always hoped to get one of the camp sites next to the creek at Vogel State Park so we could relax to the sounds of the rushing water. That rarely happened…

As my wife and I grew older, we got tired of the walk to the communal bathroom, lousy showers, lack of privacy, and the not-so-great sleep in the camper. As our kids grew older, the allure of sleeping in a tent with no WiFi faded so we set out in search of the next best thing that allows us to enjoy all of the outdoor benefits of camping, but with all the comforts of home. We found it at River Run!

The two chalets offer something for all members of the family to enjoy while on vacation:
• Husband can trout fish while the wife goes antiquing. The best of both worlds!
• Rent both chalets and give your teenagers the privacy they want and the privacy you desire.
• Ideal for two families to vacation together and still give each other privacy.
• Ideal for a family reunion.
• Do the adults want to sleep in a real bed and take a shower in a real bathroom but the kids want to camp? We have tents and sleeping bags for the kids so they can sleep in the great outdoors next to the fire. Kind of like camping but much better for the adults!
• Kayak or tube down the Nottely River. The property is 2.5 miles downstream from Nottely dam. You can get into the river at the base of the dam. We do not supply any flotation devices.
• Rent a pontoon boat on nearby Lake Nottely.

Relax by the River
The chalets were perfect for our group of 10. We met up with family and everyone was able to have their own space. The property is so relaxing that you could just bring all your groceries and be happy staying there the entire time. But, we enjoyed some nearby adventures during our time as well. The river was great, and we enjoyed tubing both from the meadow and from the dam. The firepit is great, as is the deck overlooking the river. There was plenty of room to gather inside or out and we were lucky enough to observe quite a bit of wildlife during our stay. Bugs were minimal when we were there in late August. Be aware that the mile long road dirt road to the property is a bit of a wild ride. One of our tires didn't survive, but Kevin was super responsive when I reached out for help. The family member with a large truck fared much better. Despite the tire issue, we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend the chalets (maybe just bringing a more suitable vehicle).

Great Get Away
Enjoyed the river. Cabins were neat and clean. The set up of bathrooms was unusual. (all n bedrooms) The road was terrible. Bad on cars. Once you are there, it was real nice. Temperature was around 85 with a breeze. We were not bothered by mosquitoes, which was nice. Had a great time..

Beautiful Fall Painting Retreat
I'm a member of a group of artist friends who schedule plein air painting retreats annually in the fall. This property and walkable surroundings has all the scenery a plein air painter needs to create a variety of painting compositions convenient to two comfy and well-equipped chalets. We'll definitely consider returning next year!

Wonderful trip
My family, which included eight adults and three children ages 6,9 and 11 enjoyed our stay on this beautiful river front property. We spend two mornings with the kids tubing in the river, spent the afternoons downtown Murphy shopping at the antique stores and spent our evenings on the porches playing cards and sitting around the fire pit. The houses were as described, very cleaned and well stocked with linens, towels and everything you need in the kitchen. The dirt road is long but interesting. The neighbors along the road are very friendly and we even met a horse. We had four vehicles and had no issues getting in and out of the property. If you want a nice get away and re connect with nature, this is a perfect place. As described, the water is cold, but we didn’t mind after we got acclimated to the temperature. My daughter said the cold water made her feel energized the rest of the day and now is interested in taking cold plunges.. lol!

Definite Getaway
This is a great place if you want to be away from the rest of the world. Amazing views. Very secluded. Truly peaceful. Wi-Fi very spotty. Since we had 9 people, there was no where for all of us to eat together which was disappointing. The kitchen was very close quarters for trying to prep and make meals for 9. The dam released every day at 1:30 while we were there so we didn’t get to play in the river like we hoped. The drive is dirt/gravel. Unfortunately our first day there was quite the storm and we had to get out to move a tree off the drive. Overall, we had a wonderful time and enjoyed the peace.

Great 16th birthday celebration!
We rented both cabins for our son's 16th birthday celebration. He and 2 of his friends stayed in one cabin, my husband, daughter and her boyfriend stayed in the other. Within minutes of arriving, my son was so in love with the property, he was wanting to buy it! lol. They thoroughly enjoyed the property. Unfortunately, didn't catch any fish there, but they went swimming and loved it all the same! The boys made a short trip to Cooper creek in GA to go trout fishing, so the whole trip was a success! Would definitely stay here again!

Get lost by the river
The property was absolutely stunning, plenty of comfortable beds for everyone to sleep in. Heat worked great, fireplace in each cabin as well as a fire pit, the lights in the gazebo make it the perfect hangout spot to listen to the water. Perfect location within an hour to Helen, blue ridge, Murphy and Blairsville. The price to have two full size cabins on 25 acres of property right on the river is a STEAL! We never wanted to leave, the option to walk through the huge field and the gazebo over the river made it less stressful having little ones with us. Everyone had a blast playing air hockey and ping pong together. We did have one of our cars (a ford explorer) get stuck on the road coming in, but thankfully we also had a truck to pull it out. The road is pretty sketchy I wouldn’t recommend trying to drive down here with anything smaller than an suv of some sort. Definitely pay attention to the details in the welcome letter and turn left at the end of the road leading to the cabins. Overall the cabins and property were stunning and I would HIGHLY recommend this property to anyone looking for a perfect family vacation spot.

So peaceful. The only thing that I would change is the incline leaving the property. Our Florida vehicles are not used to that much difficulty between the gravel and the incline, it took me 3 tries to leave the 1st time.

Two cabins is double the fun!!
This property was perfect for our group. We had 4 adults and 4 kids. We had more than enough room; plus plenty of space outside for the kids to play. We did horseback riding with Chunk Gals stables and rafted the Nantahala river and the cabins were located to easily do these activities. Such a fun time was had!

excellent except for the road.
both chalets were very nice. we all enjoyed our family time at this relaxing setting. the only issue was the condition of the road which should have emphasized "rough hilly rocky and washed out road". we had to have the Telsa removed by a tow truck. the all wheel drive vehicle made it okay. would go back aagain knowing I needed a rugged tyype vehicle.

Nice country setting
Excellent communication with owners. We had a long weekend that was very rainy so we’re forced to stay indoors. We would recommend that beds be made because late arrival then needing to make our own beds seemed strange. Owner rationale is that this proves linens are clean. That really is no more indicative of clean sheets than crisp, clean ones on bed. Wi-Fi is basically nonexistent due to location. The road to the cabins is very narrow and difficult to drive in the dark. There is not much to do in the area but the homes were quite comfortable.

An Amazing Gem
First of all, the pictures do not do it justice. This is an amazing property with a lot to offer for those who want to get away and experience peace and tranquillity. I love the two properties as I came with my children and family. The kids were in one property while the adults were in there the other tranquil property. What a awesome concept. They have tents to camp out right on the property along with an amazing view of the river. I enjoyed the rocking chairs on the wraparound porch along with the fire pit. Me and my family told scary stories while roasting marshmallows and enjoying each other’s company. One thing I will say is the Wi-Fi is a bit sketchy but it’s all about enjoying time away from devices and actually living in the moment. All in all, a great vacation gem.

Mountain fun
This property is perfectly located if you want to access mountain bike trails such as Tsali and Jack Rabbit Mountain. We went whitewater rafting and zip lining at the NOC. Fly fishing with Ken at Endless River Adventures. Horse back riding with Chunky Gal Stables. The creek becomes a river when the dam is released which seems to be every day in the afternoon, the current is strong and you need to be careful. We tried fishing but didn’t have any luck. The reviews were absolutely correct. We enjoyed seeing all the farm animals the neighbor had at the entrance. The dirt/gravel road going to the house is very well maintained and easily traveled. There were lots of birds, butterflies and bunnies in the yard as well as deer and fawn in the forest along and crossing the dirt road. Houses are well equipped and perfect for a gathering of all ages. Communicating with the owner was excellent and had immediate attention.
