This is a very basic, bare bones hostel. For what it is, it's fine--but be aware, it's not really a "hotel" as the expedia listing may say. If you want a private room, be very careful to book that! We booked a family room, which was comfortable enough for our family of four. But be aware that there is no air conditioning, so you'll be opening your windows for cool air onto a noisy street.
I would rate higher, given that it's a hostel and you don't expect five-star amenities, but several elements of the room were broken or not working well. Our room's shower barely worked, giving us just a trickle of water that never really warmed up. One of the windows was broken and wouldn't open properly, which was frustrating on a hot night.
The area is walkable and safe, with the train station not far for easy access downtown, but there are not many restaurants nearby, so plan accordingly.
