A historical and charming guesthouse which has been thoughtfully renovated. The staff were so friendly and it was a lovely experience to be a guest in sharing the social experience of having intellectually disabled young adults work in the hospitality industry. A refreshing and humbling experience while having a peaceful and enjoyable experience.
Old 1870's mansion being redone as training for challenged youngsters. Wonderful people and 1st class dining. A stay that will leave you with a smile and a bright future for the staff. We will be back. Great spot for small business conference & staff training. The stay has brightened or trip. Pastries are to die for.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
I loved my stay. A beautiful, grand, historic property in a very special village in the Blue Mountains. This place is so welcoming and extra important because it is a hotel that nurtures and trains people with a disability to learn hospitality skills and gain experience and confidence.
Expect a lovely highlands country, historical retreat. No TV in the room but all the comforts of home and great internet connection. Beautiful spaces to hang out in for work on your laptop or just to relax. Really family friendly too. They love kids.
I was in the area for work and was extremely fortunate to choose Hotel Etico for my stay.
I arrived fairly late in the evening to a beautiful old Manor with a magnificent stately feel. My room was spacious and was very comforting.
It was wonderful to set myself up in the Library and complete some office tasks at the end of the work day and to later sit by the fire in the dining room. I shared some wonderful conversation with the staff and was absolutely delighted with my stay. I can’t wait to be working in the area again and am already looking forward to my next visit.
Special thanks to all the staff, but especially Cleo, Katie, Natasha and Michael, whom all made my stay more memorable.
The hotel staff were really lovely. Overall the hotel was a nice, quaint, clean boutique. Its old charm is captured well and with their fireplaces it would be comfortable year-round. We will certainly return! Easy parking and a nice little park across the road. We ate at the restaurant on our first night too, and it was a great Italian meal - seems like locals also go there to dine which is a good sign. We loved that the hotel supported the charity Two Good with its in-room bathroom amenities, meaningful choices that also smell great! The included continental breakfast was also fine and an added bonus we enjoyed. Unfortunately no espresso coffee in the restaurant, only Nespresso pods, but there is a little cafe on the corner you can walk to and support. Also, not a criticism of the wonderful Etico but a hope generally for the future, it would be amazing to see more hotels in Blue Mountains introduce an EV charger for guest cars as charging is hard in the mountains, hydro majestic is the only one :(
I loved my stay at Hotel Etico.
We were warmly greeted by Lorna who gave us an orientation tour of the grand Manor House. The history of the hotel is fascinating.
We were aware that the hotel trains young people with disabilities to learn the skills to participate in the hospitality industry.
We were served by Brandon, one of the trainees and were impressed by the skills he has learned. The mentors and trainees worked together beautifully and the service we received was faultless. In fact, the training programme made our visit more enjoyable than the usual hotel visit. Our enjoyment was shared by all the other guests who were privileged to be part of this wonderful social enterprise programme at Hotel Etico.
Loved this place! Stayed here one night while we visited the Blue Mountains on a trip back to Sydney. The hotel has a lot of history and character and the room was very clean and quiet. Breakfast the next morning was very nice. Just missed the roos that come through the yard early in the morning. Would definitely stay here again.
We absolutely loved staying at Hotel Etico and we will definitely be back. What truly impressed and delighted us was the incredible service and reception. The staff were outstanding and they all made us feel so welcome and cared for. Special thanks to Lona, Michael and Ian as well as the awesome young men, Maxime and Stephanos. We had such a special experience. Loved every minute!
We loved the concept of Hotel Erico viz. providing training and employment opportunities for people with disabilities in the hospitality industry.
While not a very high grade accommodation, it has everything one would expect from a solid B&B in terms of comfort, cleanliness, hygiene, continental-style breakfast etc.
